I dislike most of these pro golfers, they come across as spoilt, entitled babies.
McIlroy being the prime example.

Scheffler, however, I like the heft of his jib.

Top bloke.
He does seem a thoroughly decent, normal, chap.

Hope he wins

If his wife, who is due any time, had gone into labour he'd have ****ed off to be at the birth of his first child whether he was winning or not.

Good bloke

If I was playing with Hatton I’d hoy the silly, little **** in Rae’s creek( correct spelling, I checked).

Behind the scenes most of the pros are regular nice blokes,, including some you might think otherwise. There is the odd exception, partly you can tell by how they carry themselves but mostly all normal nice people who happen to be superb at what they do.

Of course without the incredibly strong sense of self belief, which can fall into arrogance, they most likely wouldn’t be where they are today. But with everything you get all sorts!

Not trying to be argumentative but how do you know what most pro golfers are like?

If they are such regular blokes why is Scheffler highlighted as being so ‘ normal’ ?

If the majority were like him you’d wouldn’t have thought Scheffler’s humility and modesty wouldn’t stand out from the crowd so much.

Scheffler is so high profile therefore he gets a lot of observations on the type of bloke he is etc.

I’ve been extremely fortunate in the recent past to spend significant time with a number of very high profile top ranked golfers and observed many more at very close quarters, both on and off the course. They’re normal people, of course some more friendly than others, but most of those who may have a perceived arrogant public persona are not like that at all in person, especially behind the scenes. I’m sure there are pricks amongst them, but I didn’t particularly come across any. Oh except one particular Korean player who has a reputation on tour for treating his caddies like **** and is not particularly friendly at all, even to his playing partners.

Just when you thought you couldn’t like Scheffler even more, he tells everyone he’s desperate to get home to his pregnant wife…

But actually jumps on a private jet before he’s even got changed out of his playing shirt and green jacket and goes straight to his local Dallas dive bar instead (Inwood Tavern)

<cheers>
