Serious question, clearly having a good season with them.

What's next for him, next level up loan?
 
He's a decent gaffer and it was a tough gig for him. They signed a lot of players in the summer who hadn't played at L2 level before and it took them a while to adapt. Adelakun has been a revelation since he brought him in in January as has TLT.

He should get time there and gaffers need it.

I think he’s a good gaffer. Obviously reasons beyond him as to why a big part of his time here is looked at with such resent. Wonder if down the line he’ll open up about how hard it was working under Ehab during the relegation season

I wouldn't have minded him getting some time under acun TBF. Even more so now you look back on how bad his replacement was

The fanbase is incredibly impatient and there's a massive sense of expectancy, we've seen that this year under LR. He made mistakes as all managers do but he's not the reason we went down, that was due to asset stripping and cutting the wage bill year on year for god knows how long. We were drifting towards relegation, he just happened to be the guy in charge when it all came to a head.

What he did do fantastically was rebuild and change the culture. It's no surprise that many of the individuals he brought in have been model pros and the core of our current squad that is now challenging the play-offs in the Championship. He also brought them in for peanuts too.

He's a great developer of young players too and despite what fans say about him, his players run through brick walls for him.

KLP loved him, as much as he thought he was ready for the step up, Grant being sacked and replaced with Shota did make the decision much easier as many players thought we would become a basket case with Shota/Acun
 
Grant was on a hiding to nothing under Allam. The results were poor, but we seemed to be turning a corner when Acun came in with his own man, IMO Grant should have had at least until the end of the season. Would he have been as successful as LR has been over the last couple of seasons, it seems unlikely.

Part of it was the way he came across in the media, just not endearing to fans.

Defensive, cagey etc etc.

It's not a real reason to dislike someone, but a reason some will take. Admittedly I struggled to warm to him.

The truth is, maybe the media and stuff just was not him and he just came across as something he was not.

I know people who are the life of the party around people they know....in front of everyone else, awkward, and just generally not well understood.

He maybe is loved by the players. But as some above have mentioned, an expectant crowd will use everything against someone when it's not going well. Relative recent success has made us that way.

McCann clearly dealt with our awful form when we got relegated really badly.

I appreciate managers aren’t going to come out and admit everything is going to pot but he was so defensive and came across as arrogant. At times it felt like he just couldn’t see how dreadful we were. I’m pretty sure he knew - but he took the wrong tact In public. Also, I know people claim Rosenior doesn’t have a plan B, but it really didn’t help losing week after week and nothing ever changing.

Ultimately he redeemed himself - but I still don’t have much good feeling towards him. It’s hard to shake the grumpy figure that took us to League 1.

If he’d got us promoted with fans back in the ground I feel like that would have changed.

Interesting comments from you I've bolded, how is what he did in that season any different to how LR has been in his post match interviews ( until recently ) where he's refused to acknowledge how poor we've been and pretend we just need to carry on doing what we're doing etc. but yet you stick up for and back LR.

I mean, for one he got us relegated and Rosenior is on course for the top 10, so that’s pretty different.

I also don’t think they have had the same tone and answers. I know Rosenior winds some up - but when I listen to him I don’t find him describing a different game to the one I’ve seen often. He’s admitted many times we need to be more clinical up top and at times he’s said he was disappointed. I can understand why people find him arrogant but I don’t find him as blinkered to our faults as McCann that season.

With Grant it felt like he just stopped communicating. The famous quote ‘the plan B is to make plan A better’ was I think overused to bash him with, but at the same time it was a silly thing to say when we were losing week after week.
