Sorry, I presumed you were local and it would be one of the ones here haha! I absolutely love my lessons, it's something I feel like I get something from every time I have one
Had a lesson today irons were great , driver s like waving a saucepan on broom handle , pushed everything right a bit . On BBC a tree lined course it will be an issue .

I've really not had as many lessons or hit anywhere near as many balls as I should so far this year, work health and the weather just haven't helped. Only managed one round all year and that was at the Emirates golf club over in Dubai they day after the Dubai dessert classic ( so can't really grumble at that )

I played once a week for twenty years , about two lessons , grip etc . You cannot make progress unless you have more and practice every week I’ve found . You are a lot younger do it now if you can , I’ve improved but the body loses speed and some mobility so I have the ability to get to about 8/9 that’s it unless I putt like Cam Smith!!

After years of issues with my pins, grade 1 ruptures of my ACL and calf plus 2 new hips, I’m finally on the upward slope to recovery.

Looking to take up golf again and will probably have a few lessons to get myself going.

Any recommendations for a decent pro somewhere local?

Preferably one that keeps it simple.

I'd go to Joe coyle if I was you, I have lessons with him and he's great, plus an really nice guy

Boynton is at national Ave as well isn’t he?
He’s a good lad
Alex Boynton is out of Cott/Skidby too
Good lad as you say

He was at Skidby today and was warming up as we left after a game @askewshair @FER ARK

He probably didn’t recognise them as they were wearing cowboy hats with bandanas over their faces!

I love playing a round of golf even though I'm rubbish and that's not me being modest I really am.
The problem is I only get to play half a dozen times a year at the most so never get to improve. That and finding people to play with that I'm not too embarrassed to show how rubbish I really am

Don't worry you're not the only one, I'm not great at all and probably never will be as I just don't get the time to play or practice enough!

To be fair it’s all relative and that’s what the handicap system is for.
I’m better than I was now I’m playing a couple of times a week, but can still have nightmare holes

I must admit I thought I was worse than the max handicap but just looked it up and says max is 54 so maybe not.
I don't feel comfortable at a lot of courses though and tend to stick to Sutton Park which isn't a great course but I do feel welcome

Sutton as you say isn't the best, but I know what you mean about it always feeling welcoming....I find it really relaxing as well

I have been thinking of playing by myself (not with myself I do that all the time) but I often struggle to see where the ball has gone. I don't mean actually finding it when you know roughly where it is but even knowing which side of the fairway to look (it's never going to be in the middle). Was looking at getting a ball flight tracker for my phone but don't know if there any good.
Has anyone got any tips for this

Don’t know about them, although I assumed they were more for the driving range?
Talking of which National Ave is good now with the ball trackers there.
Lessons and driving range and you’ll be good to go <cheers>

I’m not very good either, in fact I’m dog ****.

I have to say that you do come across some absolute bell ends on the golf course.

Some proper snooty bastards, my worst altercation ( and I’ve had several) was at South Cave.

Some aggressive, Scottish ****er who’s well known for it apparently. My oppo was astounded how well I kept my cool under such provocation.

Looking back, I regret not giving the gobby **** a right hander.
