He's made a few clangers too mind but it's the norm. TLT was ropey in patches at Stevenage too, but now he's flying at Donny.
Giles was definitely playing within himself. I wonder if he said to Coyle n Giles do 45 minutes each for me? Probably means Coyle should really be out for 6 games
On another note, LR is admitting the naivety of the group a lot more now. I'm certain they'll be bringing in more experience in the summer.
What was the injury list at the time, and did we have 2 first teamers in his position fit enough to contribute outside of the first 11? I know that game was Sunderland. I was there, and we were at bare bones. So fit in Jan. Wrd have listened to any national league offer since 19th of Jan . None came in. York signed Billy Chadwick cos he'd actually done something.
I said after Cardiff, if we up the tempo and create more chances, I'd be happy regardless of the results... Hands up time, I have to admit that I'm happy with that tonight, and if we keep playing like that then for me, the entertainment is there and the results will come too. I missed a large chunk of the second half but the way we finished the first half was excellent. The bits I saw of the second half we were still creating chances as well, so fair play. My biggest question mark over Rosenior lately has been the attacking side of our game. If we keep playing like that then I'd be happy to say he's sorted the issues. If attacking more highlights defensive frailties in the players we have, then we know what we need to try and do over the summer. There are moments we need to slow things down in order to take a breather and regain some composure, but we've needed to go for it so much more often over the course of the season. We've got that balance pretty much right in the last couple of games. We actually look like scoring and that's 5 goals in 2 games now. It's as if we've learned we have to force the issue and create chances rather than thinking they'll come naturally if we just keep the ball. The negatives - Allsop is ****e. I've thought this for a while now, like others, and frankly his poor shot stopping is costing us far too many points. Doesn't help when some of the other defenders are having a bad day, or when we're somewhat threadbare or playing players out of their best positions either, but the goalkeeper should be far more dependable. As others have said, we've given ourselves a mountain to climb long before tonight. If the lessons have been learned then personally I'm happy to see us keep progressing and creating chances with attractive attacking football. We need to keep it up though. I won't be happy if we revert to the 70% possession with 1 chance a game ****e we've seen too much of. The past two games have been much better. I think more people will appreciate that once the dust has settled after not winning at home again. It feels like we're actually using the firepower we've brought in, which we could and should have seen sooner and I'd rather be am attacking side than an overly defensive one.
Hull City boss Liam Rosenior told BBC Radio Humberside: "Same story, for 90% of the game we were excellent. They started really well and took the game to us, I think that opened up the game and left us spaces to take advantage of and we did that so well. "Their second goal sums it up, we've worked a brilliant move into their box but we don't take on the shot and within eight seconds the ball is in our net when we should have fouled. "I'm proud of the stuff that we've done but it doesn't mean anything when you haven't won and we haven't won enough. "We do such naive things at times. We should have more points. The players have been marvellous but just the key moments in the game have cost us." Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick told BBC Radio Tees: "I thought it was a good game. I thought there were a lot of good things within the game. "We started fantastically well and they had to change how they pressed against us because we played through them really well and then they had a spell where they got the goals and made us defend our box too much. "I thought we were better second half and played with a bit more belief and confidence on the ball. "We're a bit frustrated at the end that we haven't won it. I can't fault the lads, they've shown again that they can handle it on big nights."
Saw a great post on Twitter Re Allsop. Darlow might have been on a fortune but if you pay it, we're comfortably in the top 6 and I'm not sure anyone would argue with that.
Guys Jacob picked up the strain in the warmup Its no big deal Plenty of u21s have been on the bench before
I'm agreeing. My initial input in this discussion was to say plenty of clubs do it and it's no big deal.
I think you can take my post as either supportive, if you agree with the content, Or argumentative if you don't. I don't predicate either way. Sorry. I forgot you were precious .
The frustration is that we've just not been playing like we've been able to - and that's down to the system more than anything else. It's protected our back line a lot as a result, but we've been strangling the life out of games by prioritising possession over all else. Opening up more, we're now seeing some defensive frailties, but let's bare in mind we've hardly recruited at the back at all since before Rosenior came in. Personally I'd rather be getting 3-1 and 2-2 for now and using that firepower than a system which creates very little and leads to 1-0, 0-0, 1-1, 1-2 etc. I'll stand by that comment and reiterate - the last two games have been far more like it, regardless of the results.
I did tell you Olly was injured after recovering from the chest infection. Comprehension not a strong point! Injured after returning from York til Jan, made the bench at Sunderland then injured shortly after and only played his first game again on the 26th of March. Not allowed to go out in Jan because of injuries then got injured himself. Never known someone so stubborn, it’s almost commendable!
The Good (coming back from a goal down, scoring 2 goals & period quality attacking football) The Bad (going down to an early goal, getting hit on the counter again, substitutes too late & another period of possession with no urgency / attack) & The Goalie...
You didn't tell me that, no, But he recovered weeks in time to move again. But he hasn't done anything to be a unused sub anymore than a recovering first teamer. In any logical sense
I'm not being precious, you've just responded to me three times seemingly trying to make a counter point with rhetorical questions when I never disagreed in the first place. Or do you respond to everyone you agree with with rhetorical questions and back and forths for no reason?
Oh, FFS. We've had Rosey in the record saying he was a development signing that he 'came in late to'. And we've recently had the chief scout using the furlong signing as a justification of what he and "Lee" do for a living. And then can't you look at any football site and work out Rosenior had left Brighton before Furlong signed for Brightons academy, and was playing in Ireland still, so had absolutely no prior connection with him. At all ? That's on the record. So how the F*ck do you deduce he was a Rosenior signing? If there's a classic example of a Darno signing, it's Furlong.
