Tbph I don't really believe they thought it was Hamas, and even if they did, they used it as an excuse to kill the aid workers anyway. It was deliberate.

The ONLY mistake they made was not knowing there were British and Americans in the convoy and the ****storm that would follow. If it was Palestinian aid workers they would've got away with it as they have plenty already. The IDF would've maintained they were Hamas.

The question is what happens to the next set of aid workers who aren't Brits or U.S.? That's what I'm thinking. Do Israel go back to the same old bollox narrative and does everyone go back to not giving a fck? Probably, we'll see.

I don't believe they think it was Hamas either, I think they thought it was a bunch of Palestinian people and thought "**** it"

The IDF has **** themselves for one reason, they've blown up foreign nationals.

Those aid cars did not just materialise in Gaza, they had to pass security at the border fence. IDF knew exactly who was in those cars and blew them apart in order to show other potential aid workers that "mistakes" can happen.
Putting out an appology has cost them nothing but will make other aid workers think twice before risking going there.

Opponents of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu say 100,000 people have rallied against the government and to demand a Gaza hostage deal.

The rallies in Tel Aviv and other cities came after the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) recovered the body of hostage Elad Katzir.

Mr Katzir's sister, Carmit Palty Katzir, blamed Israeli authorities for her brother's death in a post on social media, saying he would have returned alive had they agreed a new truce deal.

"Our leadership is cowardly and driven by political consideration, which is why this deal has not happened yet," she wrote on Facebook.

"Prime Minister, war cabinet, and coalition members: Look at yourself in the mirror and say if your hands didn't spill blood."

Latest statistics for Hamas 'fighters' killed in this 'war'...

Close to 14,000, plus another 12,000 wounded...

All of those are children...

Of the one's wounded, over 1,000 have needed to have either one or both legs amputated ...

That's the real cost of this war and anyone believing that 'Hamas' will be destroyed as a result of such an initiative is living in cloud cuckoo land ... instead an exponential generation of future fighters is bound to be created ... whatever the 'banner' they take up arms under ...

Israel haven't done themselves any favours since though, could've played the bigger man rather than the playground bully. As far as I see all they've really done is given hamas exactly what they wanted, whilst giving Israels allies pause and given power to anti-semitism. Could end up being the biggest own goal since Hitler said 'lets go to Moscow'.
Guess that's what happens when you still live in 1000bc.

Can't but agree ... the international pressure for a 2 state solution has never been greater than it is now, with even the Yanks starting to come into line ...
