thats very true, i have no connection to any players or staff and fortunately i wont make the decision i could be way off with many of my opinions
Must agree on Fridays and tonights performance. Don't think he beat his man once tonight or won a tackle. He's looking more and more like the lad we had from Palace last season every week. All the talent in the world but no desire.
Baffled to see people blaming Allsop for going up for a corner, and the decision to take Tufan off. Rosenior gave Allsop the green light to go up, so if you really want to criticise that decision blame LR, not Allsop. People are obsessed with everything being Allsop's fault to a cartoonish degree. Similarly cartoonish is this Tufan thing. Once again he's made no impact at all in our attack, and yet somehow he's everyone's favourite performer once again. He set the tone in the first minute or so when Morton played him in behind and he embarrassed himself hoping to go down and having absolutely no idea what else to do when Meslier didn't commit, and just watched it trickle out in the end. For his wage and supposed talent, I'd rather like to see him do something meaningful. Yes he ran, lots of players do. None get the leeway to achieve so little and get so much praise for it as Tufan does. As others have said, it was the same old stuff really. Yes we played well and dominated large spells, as I think a lot of people thought we might do based on other recent performances against similar sides, and didn't deserve to lose at all never mind by 2, but that's the consistent theme of our season. Games we should draw we lose, games we should win we draw, and games we should win by 5 we win by one. Just across the board, whatever the performance, we underachieve in attack while the opposition finds the goals they need at the crucial times. We're a promising team, but to borrow a Roseniorism we need to learn quickly how to turn performances into results.
I do think a different manager is needed to take us to the next level. We did play well today but I can’t get how bad we’ve been at home out of my head. I absolutely love watching City but there’s been 7/8+ times at home this season when I’ve been bored senseless. I’ll keep going back to watch it because I love City but are the casual supporters going to keep coming back when they aren’t entertained?
Even near the end we were passing the ball about from player to player in our own half as if we werent losing.
He looks no different from the player we raved about in terms of effort, he's just failing to beat his man and score during a period when the whole team is struggling a bit. Also, typically wingers stand no chance in our team anyway, our style clearly hinders them and eventually confidence drains despite such a supportive, patient and understanding fanbase.
Tufan was a constant outlet today, took the ball under pressure a number of times and got us higher up the pitch. Pressed relentlessly all game too. Waffle from you
**** me, he's had a bad few games but I don't get why this fanbase is so reactionary all the time. After Rotherham he was the next Messi, now he's the same as Ebiowei because he's in a rough patch. He's still putting in plenty of effort People are actually whinging tonight because we've lost to the 2nd place side in a game we deserved something from. The entitlement has gone ****ing obscene.
agree, allsopp going up is irrelevant, its an extra man in the box keepers have scored and tufan lacks a yard of pace to really influence games in the championship, he obviously has great technical ability to score i just think we need a new man at the helm
Think you’re by far the best team we’ve played this season, we’ve only deserved to definitely lose two games this season, Southampton (and we did) and tonight. The difference tonight we were at home, I don’t know if we were poor or you made us look worse than we were. Either way, you’re better than the 4 teams above you, I’d not give up hope of 6th
This. Slater made one mistake all night. Allsop's mistake was doing what his Manager told him to. Philogene made about 20 more mistakes than either, but it's Slater's & Allsop's job to clean up after his ****. Also, when Sky pick a M.O.T.M. are they contractually obligated to pick a home team player who was not much better than Philogene. Lewis Coyle was clearly the winner by some distance.
I think Coyle would’ve won it had it been a draw. It certainly wasn’t Summerville though. All he did was score the penalty
There does seem to be something wrong with him. When he's been in form this season he's so instinctive, and his end product whilst in that mode is so good. Lately he's incredibly hesitant every time he gets the ball and looks really short of confidence. He never seems to get up to a sprint. I think his form lately has been as much of an issue as missing Delap has.
A few thoughts about the game - When Coyle got injured Rosenior brought on Christie, what the heck for? The tactic of using Coyle dribbling forward from centre half was very effective, but why bring on Christie in that stage of the game to do that, surely thats pre determined and highlights Rosenior naivity as a manager. - If thats how Philogene is going to perform like that from now on, drop him. Playing like that with that amount of effort is really hurting you buddy, it will put major teams off massively. If someone offers 15/20 million take the money and run and reinvest. Byram is a very average full back and he pressed Jaden high and got in his face, he had no answers to this as he couldnt face him up and go either away. - Allsopp wasn't at fault but time to give Pandur ago for next season. - Omur must start every game, his style suits us perfectly and will be a lovely player for us next season. - A number 9 is a priority if thats Delap or someone else then thats what it is, we have no clinical finisher at all. - Morton was excellent. - I wouldnt persue Giles if we are playing Rosie's style completely pointless. - We still need a midfield general. - Coyle has been tremondous this season I think hes our player of the year, his constant injuries at the end of the game hurts us.
Can't wait for Cardiff, and to get back to the MKM the week after, and then Watford and Plymouth because I absolutely love it and it keeps me going all week, but **** me I do wonder why I bother sometimes when I'm sat there watching us ****ing around and going nowhere, and the part timers will certainly be wondering the same
