They could have a state with aid constantly flowing in and the streets paved with gold and they wouldn’t stop attacking. No other country would absorb what Israel is expected to and swathes of the West still simp for the poor, oppressed Palestinians.

Probably because the vast majority of Palestinians aren't terrorists and don't deserve the indiscriminate carnage.inflicted on them ... something all too clear in the Gaza death stats ...

Or they could have a country where they had sovereign rights, access to a ports, fishing waters, agricultural lands, control of their own borders, no blockade, curfews or settlers stealing their land and they wouldn't probably wouldn't need any aid or need to attack their oppressors like.

It’s a nice dream. They could have a thriving tourism sector and people of all races could have a lovely time together.

Self-preservation I could get on board with but not ideology. Why now? Israel absorbs small terror attacks constantly and they’ve just taken the piss and gone too far this time hence the response. Rolling over and accepting it was never going to happen.

Genuinely what would be the point of a two state solution? They’re only going to carry on while Hamas,

There is literally decades of evidence to cite his ideology. You don't need me to quote them. He doesn't want a Palestinian state. He used and will use any opportunity he can, including helping to fund Hamas, to ensure it never happened. He's a fanatic.

Israel absorbs nothing, it gives 10 fold what it gets and it's a vicious cycle with "they started it, no they started it" which I'm sure neither of us cba to argue about. There's a difference between not rolling over and taking it to the levels Israel have after almost 6 months of death and destruction. There's nothing good being achieved by this. It's just revenge pure and simple against ppl, the vast majority of who had nothing to do with the October attack.

On the last part, there are plenty of nations in this world that have leaders and governments and regimes that carry out atrocities. That doesn't mean they don't have a right to exist. Nobody imposes that on them do they? We don't say Putin goes around attacking his neighbours so Russia shouldn't exist. It's a completely bogus argument that because of Hamas, the Palestinians shouldn't have their independence or their own state. Not only that, but it's not up to Israel to decide whether they should.

What never gets mentioned enough in any of this is that Israel has illegally occupied Palestinian territory for at least 57 years. Hamas has been around for 37. This, what the Palestinians are going through, started well before Hamas, and they were borne out of it. And the next generation will be borne out of it too, they'll just have a different name above the door. The only way we break the cycle is to do the one thing that hasn't been tried, namely creating two states.

I’m still going with the ‘nah, **** ‘em’ philosophy.

Fair enough but the "fck 'em" will be to the next Israeli kid as well as Palestinian.

Maybe. There’s not a viable way out of this as much as people wish they can all just get along nicely. It’s a pipe dream.

I guess my real ire is with the ****s here flocking to fap for Palestine and allowing anti-semitism to rear its head again.

There is a direct link between growing anti-Israel sentiments throughout the world and the actions and attitude of the Israeli regime ... it's culminated in the US abstention to the latest UN resolution for immediate ceasefire... even the Yanks know they can no longer use smoke and mirrors to deflect from systematic slaughtering of non-combatants ... Netanyahu has a lot to answer for ...

You’d think they’d have learned to not start wars and cry about the consequences after 1948, ‘67, ‘73, etc.

... and you'd have thought Israel would have stopped unlawful land grabbing, occupying and establishment of illegal settlements by now to avoid the Jewish deaths that inevitably come from retaliation to such... it's why neither they or the arab terrorists can be trusted to find a lawful solution and why the world needs to step in and halt this human tragedy ...

I’m aware people aren’t as bothered about Israel if they choose to just roll over and die.

The point was antisemitism is rampant and permitted, even perpetuated, by the sort of people who’d usually consider themselves the most ardent anti-racists because they see it as punching up. Jews have more than played their part in anti-racism down the years and have now been abandoned so we’re going to be a tad protective of the one tiny slither of land we should be ok in. Pandora’s box is open now and they know they can say and do what they want with impunity so Netanyahu might as well get in there and deal with the immediate threat because the Hamas simps here aren’t going be frothing any less if he doesn’t.

This is one ****ed up view in my opinion.

Anti-Israeli sentiment does not equate to Antisemitism. That point needs to be hammered home again and again it seems because there are people who lazily lump it all together.

yes there is antisemitism, not denying that exists and yes it’s probably been ramped up by recent events. But it’s likely that those who were anti semitic anyway just feel emboldened, I don’t think it’s created a whole new swathe of antisemitism

Jews haven’t been abandoned either. On the contrary, there’s probably more time, effort and debate that goes into combating antisemitism than is given to Islamophobia or prejudice against other ethic / religious groups. Nobody says antisemitism is okay.

Your premise that Netanyahu might as well go in and do what he wants because of this perception that nobody is doing anything about antisemitism is ****ed up beyond belief. He is systematically murdering, starving and persecuting an ethnic group who have done nothing wrong.

The ****ing irony of a Jewish safe home, when the govt who run it are metting out exactly the same persecution that the place was created for in the first place <doh>

Utter bollocks. Arabs have a long history of starting wars with Israel, losing those wars then crying about the consequences of losing them. Gambling addicts who expect to have their stake reimbursed.

you can’t even see what part Israel have played in those wars <doh>

Can’t honestly be arsed with all of it but if you aren’t seeing antisemitism being very, very thinly veiled as anti-Zionism then I don’t know what to say. If you think there’s some sort of equivalence with the Holocaust then you’re too far gone.
