It started long before.... and for sure Royal Engineers and Wanderers had their day ... but they have little relevance to the modern game ... that's what time does ... football didn't start in '92 ... but it changed dramatically from that point on and it's no surprise that since that dramatic change only 7 clubs have won the top trophy in 32 years since ... and given how hard it has now become, the time that some club makes it 8 will be a monumental day in British footie <cheers>
This has been done before Fosse. If it was that easy to win before the PL, how come Leicester City, a club that was founded in 1884 weren’t able to manage it?

A World Cup group with Israel, Palestine, Iran and U.S.A would be a sight to behold.

I imagine tickets for most of the group games wouldn't be in high demand lol

We had Israel in the Asian Cup until Kuwait cried about how embarrassing it was to lose to them and got them kicked out. Won it in ‘64 and made it to the World Cup in ‘70. The glory years.

7 clubs have won it from 1992. 11 won it in the 32 seasons before that.

Not that much difference imo. Probably more the stature of the clubs in each period that is more relevant.

I think it’s a fair point that there are cut-offs in football. Post-war is the obvious one but really it’s since 1970.

I know mate, Brazil and Israel were defo the highlight of that 1970 World Cup.

Just seen news that ppl are now fcked off about hot cross buns because some have got ticks on them instead.

Nike have got a lot to fckin answer for.

<laugh>

I got a voucher for some free ones so that's ok. <laugh>

Will probably pick them up instore tomorrow, if I remember - I shouldn't really be eating them, but fook it.

I don't believe the Nike bit btw :cheesy: but if people really want to be offended, shouldn't it be offensive to put a cross on a bun in the first place!....just saying like.

I agree with cut offs but where is the line drawn? You could argue that Leicester’s win 10 years ago is no longer relevant, which was Fosse point that if it isn’t PL then it’s irrelevant, as the game has moved on since. 10 years ago, there was no VAR, 3 subs instead of 5, different hand ball, offside laws, head injury laws. Does that make Leicester’s achievement any less, absolutely not, but IMO nor does the Royal engineers or whoever winning the league 100 years ago.

They look nice, been trying to leave bakery stuff alone, love bagels as well but the thin ones, especially fruited ones, oh and fruit bread.

We came close a couple of times ... Matt Gilles team in the 60s were very good ... but it needed a genius at the helm and a real 'team' to get there ... like every Leicester team before it, the 2015/16 side, financially, were way behind the main players ... but we just had the perfect storm ... particularly down the spine of the team ...

That wasn’t the PL in the 60’s.
Like you keep banging on about winning a PL while others have spent more to not win it.
