Cream first just makes more sense. You wouldn’t put jam on first in a jam sandwich. You can’t trust Cornwall- inbreds and independence oddballs. Devon know their scone ****.
I find it gets messy putting the jam on the cream whereas a dollop of cream spread over jam is straightforward and just nicer taste and texture that way round. But this is what makes the human race so special. Strength in diversity, each to their own. I've stayed in Devon a few times. Love the clotted cream there. Not been to Ponkieland tbh.
Going to Plymouth away in a couple of weeks. I’m going to put the jam on first and stare into the eyes of the horrified waiter. But still, cream first.
Not fussed over scones, don't see the appeal myself other than the jam and cream, can't we just stick that in a cold cross bun. #heathen
Trebs you cut the bun in half, put jam on one half and clotted cream on the other, in Devon the jam is on the top half in Cornwall the bottom half Simples
seems quite complex tbh what happens if I’m in Devon and decide to put the jam on the bottom half? exactly nothing
****ing scones discussion, did this turn into This Morning or Loose Women? It doesn't ****ing matter and each and everyone involved in the discussion should have a self enforced ban for a week.
Well, after watching Midsomer murders I'd guess at some stylized murder involving being drowned in either cream or jam. Besides, I prefer mine with butter.
That's just ridiculous Duggie. What happens if you do all that and turn the bun upside down. Mayhem that's what. What next, using squeezy tube jam ffs!
I tend to go for fruit scones, normally cherry, so don't really need the jam, but have had it, defo better than cream.
