It started long before.... and for sure Royal Engineers and Wanderers had their day ... but they have little relevance to the modern game ... that's what time does ... football didn't start in '92 ... but it changed dramatically from that point on and it's no surprise that since that dramatic change only 7 clubs have won the top trophy in 32 years since ... and given how hard it has now become, the time that some club makes it 8 will be a monumental day in British footie
The match against Gillingham was our last league cup match at the old WHL. I made the last European match, the last FA Cup match, the last NLD and the last league match at the old WHL. Usually make 8-10 games a season. Sometimes go see Charlton with a mate. His son was an addick but unfortunately died (**** cancer) aged just 17 a couple of years ago. He goes home and away with them...makes him feel close to his boy.
Really can't see why we're in for Gallagher... seems massively over rated to me...he's like a version of Jamie O'hara that can keep it in his trousers.
Not had an England top since Euro96. Got swept up in the hype, so got one. Personally adults shouldn’t be wearing football kits. However if it cost me £125 to annoy the gammons moaning about a flag on the back, it’s a price worth paying. Don’t get me started on the ones you see watching F1 in a ‘team shirt’ can imagine the chat, wow that mechanic on the righ back wheel, haven’t seen a nut change with that much quality since Ferrari 97 front left wheel….
I don’t think he’s a bad player but gets a bit more credit from Chelsea fans than he’s worth because so many of their players phone it in and he’s a trier. He’s ok at everything but not great at anything and in a 4231 you’d only have him in the 2 given Maddison will play behind the striker. Just a very Southgate vanilla player who probably won’t start but also won’t offer much of an option as a sub either.
He was at Swansea on loan for a season and was extremely meh, genuinely couldn't see a top class player in there. He was supposedly decent when he was at Palace though. Just a middle of the road player, not international class at all.
Maybe we should change the Israel flag, the Ukranian one to, why not the Italians, French, Germans, see how they react. I'll accept it for what it is, a pile of overpriced shhite, so wouldn't buy it anyway, but is it right to change a National flag, no it's not. Maybe we should change the Everton shirt badge to a red and white one.
Don’t think this would’ve been a massive issue ten years ago. The Union flag was tweaked with for the Olympic kit. A certain self-proclaimed patriotic party uses a light blue Union flag. Don’t think it needs to be that deep but like a lot of things now it’s driven by Twitter outrage.
Change the Israeli one to a Palestinian one I don't disagree with you here, but why the uproar in the media now? The England flag has been done in different colours on numerous occasions on the England shirt and nobody's given a fck before. The elephant in the room is the colours. Although very few who've made a big issue out of this are prepared to say, imo it's because it's a bit too "rainbowy" for some.
Yup, change the Israeli one to Palestinian colours just for the bantz. I think the logo in itself looks ok, because that's what it is, because by doing what they've done has removed what was a flag imho - I wouldn't pay that sort of money for it anyway, so it's not an issue for me, but I certainly won't sit here and say it's ok because those that don't see the problem, think we should just accept it. I bet if you messed with the Irish Republic identity, it would be the first and last time any big sports sponsor did it. Btw I'm not asking for it to be changed, I'm merely voiceing my disapproval.
It’s disgraceful Palestine are in Fifa really when it’s not a country and they don’t even have hospitals.
I'd avoide wearing an England shirt these days anyway, I don't like the image that tends to go with it. So it's understandable why people take the piss. Very rarely wear a club shirt these days tbph although I quite like our new black and white one (away kit).
Yeah not disputing it probably has, but when we now live in times, where people openly fly Palestinian flags and Ukranian flags at our games and in Cities, maybe the timing is poor. Like I've said, I actually like it, I just refuse to sit quietly and say yeah that's ok. It's done, leave it, I'm not asking for anything to be done about it, it's just a no from me more on my own stubborn principles of the thing.
A World Cup group with Israel, Palestine, Iran and U.S.A would be a sight to behold. I imagine tickets for most of the group games wouldn't be in high demand lol
