Doesn't that value the club at over 200 million? Seems mentally high, but guess that's how mad football finances are
£260m if my arithmetic is right ! Totally bonkers . Wonder if that company would be interested in my Zafira, good value at £40k
Could be a bargain if they manage promotion. Even if they miss out this year it looks like they are gearing up for a real good run at it. Interesting they mentioned how it helps investment in the training ground, I believe that's a free hit under PSR rules
Portman Road must need some serious investment, wouldn't be suprised if they where planning a new ground
Always been a good club in my eyes, loyal fans and a captive audience unless you want.to watch colchester or pay to see a London club
Ipswich may not even go up this season. They have a squad of mainly L1 players. They have a small dilapidated stadium that they don't fill. How can they be worth £260m when Premier League Newcastle were sold for around the same amount-ish? Newcastle have twice their support. I smell some financial shenanigans.
I'd imagine their "40%" includes options or rights on the stadium and training ground. Not a chance a small Championship club (in terms of stature) is valued at £260m
Am not. I know people who live in Ipswich and commute to London for work. An hour on the train. That in it's self with add value to the club.
It takes about the same time to get from Durham to Leeds by train as it does to get from Ipswich to London Liverpool Street. You wouldn't say that Leeds was a Durham club. I know people who commute to London from Birmingham and Stoke- commuting distance has no bearing. Psychologically, Ipswich is very separate from London and there is no way that people in London or Ipswich, or the areas in between, would consider Ipswich to be a London club. In terms of attracting players though, it's location might give Ipswich a slight advantage over clubs further afield if players want to live close to London. A lot of West Ham players live in parts of Essex that you can reach Ipswich from in just over an hour (if the traffic is OK on the A12).
