So, they will be doing this with flags of other countries? Of course they won’t as there would be more of an outcry. But they know in this country some daft sods accept any **** about their own country.
You have cast aspersions on those who are protesting against what is happening in the world, and this is what you think there should be an 'outcry' about? Get a grip, much.

That's interesting, your 'leopards' sent me on a quest to find out why you wrote it. I learnt something new.
If you like to know about things taken for granted being very different from their origins, take a look into the Rivers of Blood crap that gets trotted out and how it has been twisted 180 degrees from its meaning in Virgil.

Was reading the England kits were made in Thailand for Nike, an American firm. Ironic. Desecrating the flag carries jail terms up to 6 years. Guess Nike won’t be doing a playful update of their flag to unite and inspire them. And they won’t be redesigning the American flag you can bet.
Definitely don’t want to try it with Turkey. Up to 18 years there.

The colour of a logo on the back of a football shirt has absolutely nothing to do with flag desecration.

Try playfully redesigning the flags of other countries. Maybe next time you do an order in Turkey you could playfully reinterpret their flags on some your gear to sell to Turks to unite and inspire them.

Sad bugger that I am, I have tried looking this up and I'm not sure about the aspect of the twisting you are referring to and I suspect you might be unable to clarify it without breaking the no politics rule. I would say I read that the quote was out of context because it's not a Roman who wrote it, but it is mostly likely a Roman who would have witnessed the Tiber ( if we're talking about the same thing!). Oh and the reference I was reading had it down as 'Vergil', so I'm not sure how much credence we should give it.

So, Scotland is not really a thing. Or Wales. The Olympics are Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team. At the moment they are branded Team GB.

I'm sure Nike would prefer people discussing the colour of a flag rather than the price which is shocking.

Bet you can't get one week before the Euros start.

Well, it was Virgil. Though he was born Publius Vergilius Maro. And as he was a Roman it was a Roman who wrote the poem the quote came from.

I read this on the internet,so it must be true
'it was no ‘Roman’ who said this, but the Greek Delphic Apollo, via his priestess at the equally Greek colony of Cumae, near Naples. She told Aeneas (no Roman, either), who was applying for an Italian work permit, ‘I see wars, horrid wars, and the Tiber foaming with much blood’ (bella, horrida bella / et Thybrim multo spumantem sanguine cerno’ (6.86-7).'.
Full disclosure: I have no idea, nor skin in this game!

I appreciate I brought the flag malarkey up, I didn’t do it with intent of offending anyone.

I’m not particularly arsed ( why does my 18 year old daughter think that if I disagree with her I’m angry or offended, when in fact I just have a different opinion) by the flag.

I’ve got 99 problems but the daft flag ain’t one.

I just think it’s a ridiculous thing to do.

In other words, a bit of a ****s trick.
