Until his resurgence, Field was below par for some time. For me, it makes little difference who starts out of Colback and Field. Maybe Field would be needed for his height against some teams. Hayden should always start imo. Yes, Armstrong should start against Brum, but Marti sees them every day so we'll see.
I agree Field struggled to play in this team at one point. Shows his quality to get himself back in and performing. Great to see it as he’s more the future than Colback. I’d prefer Armstrong to come on at 55-60 mins against a tiring side where he can rip into them with speed and aggression. We know he’s not the finished article but keep improving his ball control and he could be very good. He has time, desire and a good coaching team to help him. I’d like to see Smyth on earlier too. He adds pace even if his final ball isn’t the best.

Willock and Andersen should have scored. Dykes offered nothing which is quite amazing given the clear effort he makes. Small margins but just two better strikes and we’d be crowing about a 0-2 away win.
The second round of subs were criminally late. Thought Colback was again mediocre. Did he sign a three year deal? Field and Hayden between them are a lot more solid and cover more ground and Field adds a lot in both boxes at set pieces.
He's scored some awesome goals for us that he had no right scoring. But he did play really well when Marti pushed him back into an advanced central midfield role. Maybe we should use him as a sub in that area and just play Armstrong for now.
Blessed relief. Perhaps the Saudis will be keen for an experienced Premier League midfielder in the summer.
Given what Dykes brought to the Marti Party on Saturday, reckon our gaffer got that one massively wrong https://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-boss-admits-facing-tough-decision-on-sinclair-armstrong
I don't get this antipathy to Colback. He's been MOM in 3 of his last 4 games. If you want my source it seems to be the consensus on the respective match day threads. How many times exactly has he been sent off? Not so long ago it seemed Field was absolutely indispensable. He's then suspended because he clocked up more bookings than Colback, is temporarily replaced by the loanees, and all of a sudden he should not be an automatic starter. He then scores twice and he is indispensable again but so is Hayden. So back to Colback for the role of pantomime villain/ village idiot/thug in hoops. Give the guy a break.
