Another "friend of the terrorist" denier trying to change history. Mo Mowlem was Home Secretary (I think) and a member of the government. Corbyn wasn't meeting the IRA on behalf of the government or else he would have met with loyalists as well. Do you know how many times he met the loyalists in that period? Zero. I can't remember the exact figures of how many times he met terrorists Martin McGuiness and Gerry Adams but it was around 70. Stop trying to fool yourself and everyone else.
Completely agree here, ever so slightly revisionist to suggest he was meeting them to broker peace. Especially when Abbot was vocally lending them support. Was he brokering peace at the meeting commerating those killed in Loughall? Was he ****. Did he speak to the UDA, the UVF, UFF? The hard left in Britain has always supported PIRA. At least own it
Talk of Nigel Farage heading back into politics as a front line politician for the reform party. That will 100% be the Tories done for.
The righteous right, the lefty left and the Inbetweenies would do well to get off their soap boxes and read this. https://theconversation.com/good-fr...sh-government-that-made-peace-possible-202986
Also worth a read by those with an interest in modern history. https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/factcheck-corbyn-on-northern-ireland
And Corbyn was part of that was he? He was on officially sanctioned parliamentary business? Come on, if he had absolutely anything to do with the peace process he'd make political capital out of it. The truth is he and his ilk support PIRA. They hate the British state
Getting involved with a minutes silence for PIRA members killed trying to bomb a police station shows us quite clearly where his allegiances lie.
As the son-in-law of the guy that, y’know, actually uncovered all the Brendan Duddy and “Robert” stuff, and wrote a book (Operation Chiffon) about it all last year. I can absolutely 100% assure you that Corbyn had absolutely **** all to do with it (the peace process, that is).
And that's what bugs me about Corbynites. The idea that socialist Jesus is somehow more honourable, has more integrity and sticks to his principles more than other politicians is clearly batshit. Corbyn lies just like all the others. His view(s) are unpalatable to large sections of society so he hides and minimises it rather than standing up for what he believes in, just to get elected. I'd actually have more respect for him if he just acknowledged he was pro IRA.
I would hope this would put an end to the idiotic excuse that gets churned out by the left every time Corbyn gets condemned, but I doubt it. It's no surprise that all the usual suspects are involved in Spiderman's post, not for the first time giving approval to a delusion. But if you believe that a man can become a woman by throwing on a wig and a badly fitting dress you'll believe anything. "Former deputy first minister of Northern Ireland, Seamus Mallon, said “I never heard anyone mention Corbyn at all. He very clearly took the side of the IRA and that was incompatible, in my opinion, with working for peace.” Sean O’Callaghan, an ex-IRA terrorist, said Corbyn “played no part ever, at any time, in promoting peace in Northern Ireland”, and any suggestion otherwise is “a cowardly, self-serving lie”." You would think Corbyn would have been satisfied with paving the way to peace in NI with his self appointed meetings with the IRA. But no, the great man also found time to meet with leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah in London. Unfortunately, his efforts for peace in the middle east have been less successful, maybe he could find some time for a chat in Israel this time.
