I see Middlesbrough, our next opponents, have now won 3 on the trot for the first time since October. They are at home to Blackburn on Saturday with a good chance to make that 4 and have themselves back in the race for the playoffs having looked like prime candidates for mid table obscurity.

It seems that quite a few teams, other than Sunderland, go on a run of form before we play them. Sod’s Law.
