not forgetting a big pay rise totally unforgivable what he did going to Stoke game when he was still employed by safc
Performed incredibly well here and made us a force in the league with a wild run to the finish. Getting us out of that crap league. That we all wanted and longed for. It wasn't happening under Johnson and Neil made us a proper team. He wanted experience, not just young kids. Is it absolutely contact in this. Look at our situation now. He is unemployed. Agree. We are without a head coach and have resorted in Michael Beale and Dodds and we are heading down the league. He won't be popular , but he is correct at what has unfolded here.
But what unfolded after he left was we finished 6th - so he wasnt correct This season has been the biggest issue, not what happened during Neil's time at the club. He left for more money and a bigger say on transfers, stoke had a worse window than us so im pleased we refused to have a bigger say on transfers From what ive been told 1 of the players he didnt want us to sign was Amad, that turned out well for us
We were two points off top when he arrived ... ... we ended the season eight points off top behind Wigan, Rotherham and MK Dons. He got us up, fair play, but that team was way too good for L1. In any case he proved to be a snake so I doubt he was a total innocent in his contract dealings with the club.
People reckon I rewrite history by claiming the Mowbray sacking was unwarranted. Neil was a poor fit and left with a rotten attitude. Claiming he might have somehow been in the right to do what he did is barmy. That is more rewriting history in my opinion. He is like Roy Keane, a quitter and a bottler who cant trust his own ability because he knows it is wafer thin.
I really disliked Neils press conferences. I hate these supposed straight talking managers/coaches which people seem to love. Gobshites.
Just because Mowbray over performed and exceeded expectations doesn't make my point any less valid. Look ay the teamits crying out for experience. That's all he banged about about. Wanted a couple of players with experience but was told no.
We were in disarray. You have spun that well. If things were rosey Johnson wouldn't have left. Neil come in and went on a wild run. Was the last 10 games 7 or 8 wins ? Managed the play offs incredibly well too.
He actually got a pay rise to his contract after the play off final but not increase in length. He wanted that and againt didn't get it. That's why when speakman is saying he got a new contract, it's not entirely true. It's also why it wasn't announced anywhere. If speakman was telling the truth, it would be announced. Every head coach needs contract is. The fact is, it wasn't a new contract. Going to watch the other team instead of ours looked horrendous. But again. No backlash from the club or anything. Got offered a longer deal elsewhere as Stoke met conditions. He left. Most of this was said at the time but the fury took over objectivity. Same as Prichard , got span the other way. People surely must be seeing a pattern here......
Like Pritchard, just do the right thing even when it may be difficult and people respect you. Neil didn’t .
Sorry marra, but a manager who ****s off to watch another team when still in our employment, and a player who said he wouldnt play for us??????? **** both of them
Neil was on a 12 month rolling contract. Which suggests that either party could break it at any time. It also suggests that the club weren't totally convinced he was the right man.
I liked Neil until he **** on us, I loved his press conferences, I was waiting for him to tell a reporter to **** off
That's exactly how it's been put across and with the Prichard thing, it's been bought. That said, it was done to death.
Just asking.....But is there, within the club, even the remotest possibility the AN has a chance to return?
The only pattern i see is that the club has set it's limits and when people don't get what they want they throw the toys out of the pram and force an exit. Fine, they can **** off
