I’m sure I read somewhere that Mandy has said that if the right player comes up they will find the money for them. I think least summer we were given the option to sign the two best young full backs and we went for it
I don’t think our fans lambast anyone. The Burn situation was over a long period of time of poor performances and being picked even when he wasn’t playing well and Livermento was available.
Yes and if Trippier was injured earlier people wouldn't have questioned it so much. I don't know why, but there's still a large number of fans that cannot see beyond the starting 11 or the current season.
You rate Hall? Livermento I rate. I have not seen enough of Hall yet. But at 28m for a player that hasn’t done much. We are signing potential. I guess.
Livramento was 45 million and he was coming back from a serious knee injury, so that puts Halls 28 million price tag into some perspective. Hall was excellent at Chelsea and yes I do think he's going to be a very good player... he wasn't found wanting away at Man United.
Newcastle have discussed the possibility of signing Pedro Neto from Wolves this summer, with a fee of about £60m thought to be enough to sign the 23-year-old Portugal winger - although Liverpool are also interested. (Mail) https://www.bbc.com/sport/68514955 We should have signed another winger last summer. I'd have personally gone all out for Bowen in Summer while we were in a great position and west ham struggling. Right wing is where we lack quality. Murphy is bang average, Almiron is a grafter, but that's it. Maddison could play CM or RW. We really should have tried harder to sign either of these two.
Ashworth put us off by all accounts because he thought Anderson could do a job in those kind of positions.
The problem is that he was simply here, so he will obviously have 'played a part' and his uncle isn't going to say anything else because he gifted him the job.
Lewis Hall deal wasn't based on appearances but was based on where we finished in the table according to Mr Edwards
