Former Germany defender Andreas Brehme, who scored the winning goal in the 1990 World Cup final, has died aged 63. Brehme converted a late penalty in the final of the 1990 tournament to secure victory against Argentina in Rome. He earned 86 caps, including eight goals, for his country and won league titles while at Kaiserslautern, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. Brehme's partner Susanne Schaefer told German news agency DPA that he "died suddenly" from cardiac arrest. RIP

What a shame...after a long struggle with the Big C. After The Two Fat Ladies, TV needed some big characters in the kitchen to take their place. It found them in Dave and Si King. RIP
RIP Dave, everyone has said what a genuine and lovely guy he was. Another gone too soon to that **** disease
Bullseye star and darts commentator Tony Green, who worked alongside Jim Bowen on the hit ITV show for more than a decade, has died aged 85. A statement on the Bullseye Facebook account said "our dear friend and much-loved colleague... passed away peacefully today after a long battle with Alzheimer's". Green, a former amateur player, was a darts commentator for the BBC and also became the announcer and co-host of Bullseye, where he worked for 13 years from 1982. RIP
Former Wales and British & Irish Lions international Lewis Jones has died at the age of 92 after a brief illness. Born in Gorseinon in 1931, Jones played club rugby for (my club) Neath before winning his first Wales cap against England as a teenager in 1950. The dual-code star won 10 caps for his country and three for the Lions in rugby union, before switching codes and joining Leeds. Only Kevin Sinfield has scored more points for the club. Lewis Jones also represented Great Britain 15 times. RIP
Sad day, Sid Waddel used to say he taught him the commentary game. Although Sid was a complete one off , mad as a hatter but the funniest commentator ever on any sport ! RIP Tony
Seeing this had me look up Brian Price ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/40013034 ) only to see he passed away December 2023. Some good memories of rugby under his tutelage; and great stories of his playing days on rain-off sports days. I giant of a man, hard but fair.
I met Brian on a number of occasions when I was involved with Neath in the 1990s. His former Wales second row partner, Brian Thomas, introduced him to me - the banter between the 2 of them was something to behold
RIP Duncan , used 1 of his bats decades ago around when Botham used one, aswell as an SS Jumbo when Viv used one. Both lovely bat's although the Jumbo was seriously heavy, handy though as an edge off that bat would often fly for 6 over the gully region lol.
