Questions to consider while celebrating: When Smyth is on the pitch things happen. Why isn't he starting? Where has that version of Willock been all season? How can we justify continuing to play out from the back against a high press?
Thank **** for that. Although, I suspect we'll still go down, based on the form of Huddersfield and Wednesday, but at least we're fighting. Good to hear Willock silenced his critics again. Who's the next whipping boy?
We can't say typical rangers today with that win...I agree though still a lot to do and against much better teams
You could argue the unexpected win at Bristol could as well. To be honest we could pinpoint any number of games but if we do go down we'd look at those several missed opportunities to get out of the bottom 3 earlier.
The proverbial game of two halves. Credit to MC for realising he'd not got it right and making subs at the start of the second half. I don't recall him doing that previously. While we can rejoice in the victory, the unwelcome fact is that Huddersfield and Millwall beat teams far superior to Rotherham. Lots to play for but the March fixtures look grim. Let's enjoy being out of the drop zone for as long as it lasts and hope it lasts for another couple of months!
We fight all the way. You get your justified criticism if you don’t perform to your best and to your potential. That’s how it works. Equally you get your praise when you do perform. Nothing to do with ‘whipping boys’.
Unfortunately I couldn't get to the game today. Other than the sloppy soft goal I thought we pretty much dominated the game. An in form Willock is like getting a new signing in. He did brilliantly with an assist and a cracking goal. The Rotherham manager complaining about us wasting time is hilarious hypocrisy. This team can beat anyone when they bother to turn up, so hopefully we can get some unexpected points on the board during March.
Out most of this afternoon but kept a nervous eye on things after our poor start. Good to see we can come from behind when it matters, that didn't happen much under GA. Many other strugglers winning shows how important it is to keep this going, Leicester a free hit as we're expected to lose that one and we might just surprise them...
Looking at the fixtures, I think you're probably correct about us going down but there is some hope at least.
Have just watched the highlights. We concede an early poor goal. The two goals which we scored looked great, but one has to question their goalie. Great to see a positive come-back and three very welcome points to see us drift out of the relegation places.
March is tough but not just for us. Stoke have Boro (h); Leeds (a); Preston (a); Norwich (h) and Hull (a) - 2pts? We have Leics (a); West Brom (h); Boro (h); Sunderland (a) and Brum (h) - 6pts? Millwall have Watford (h); Blackburn (a); Brum (h); Leeds (a) and West Brom (h) - 6pts? Hudds have Leeds (h); Cardiff (a); West Brom (h); Rothers (a) and Cov (h) - 8pts? Brum have Saints (h); Hull (a); ‘wall (a); Boro (h); Watford (h) and Us (a) - 5pts?
Thought their keeper was going to have one of those inspired games. Made three great saves in first half. But was definitely at fault for the winner. Seemed to go down early as the ball flew towards him. Just the bit of luck we needed!
Marti is averaging 1.35 points over his 20 games in charge, if that continues we get to 51 points. Obviously it's not as simple as that but today was a massive psychological barrier, could be crucial.
