To be honest QPR should have won by at least 3-0.. we were that bad.
After all the praise I gave LM after the Southampton game, imo today picked the wrong side and got his tactics completely wrong.. needs to learn from that if we are to get anything from the games ahead..

we could see the team was not working after 20 minutes.
Never changed it -left it to late in the second half.

Mehmeti not good enough
Bell very average
Wells is past it

yet he plays them:emoticon-0130-devil

I agree.. bad day at the office throughout..
Not one outfield player came out with glory..
It looked like QPR were the side fighting for the playoff spot and us a relegation side..

We don’t deserve a playoff spot when we can’t beat a team that most of the other teams around us seemed to manage to be able to.
Anyway on to the next - Sheffield Wednesday.
Another struggling side, so that’s another zero points for us - and another knock to our GD.
QPR’s form is not to dissimilar to our form since both managers started. Why do we think we’ve got the right to ride over them just because we had a better first 14 games than them. Chair and Willock are both very creative players who were stifled under Ainsworth.
We was the better of the teams until Bell got injured and we seemed to lose balance / control of the game. Midfield was littered with tired passes (all teams have had this run of fixtures) but we just looked tired.

I wasn’t saying we had a God-given right to beat them, but I would expect us to give them a game.
I didn’t know they had just changed manager tbh but given our respective league positions and the fact we were at home I at least expected a point.

Likewise I did as well. I was hoping to see Twine play as I missed his debut and only game. I would have thought without the enforced sub with Bell we may have seen him like Sykes for last twenty minutes.
Bells injury changed the game imo as we relied on Mehmetti who let’s be honest is not the most reliable. As Cornick is not a nippy winger like Bell who gives defences something to worry about. I know some complain about Bell but he does strike fear and opens up the game.

I was going to mention Bell.
People moan about him but we seem impotent when he’s unavailable.
Maybe he contributes more than we think?

after todays result we are 11 points off sixth .. statistically speaking [ although table only looks like 7 points... ] I think today is the day we finally said goodbye to top 6 this season. realization will dawn we blew it so results may just be a bit flatter.. if we have a goalscoring "no 9 " in the academy teams then maybe we should blood them!

These regular situations are starting to wear a little thin because despite many seasons of identical problems we just don't seem bothered by them and certainly have never even come close to rectifying our obvious shortcomings. Sometimes I really think we shoot ourselves in the foot on purpose and although I would never call it match fixing I do believe the business plan is in someway involved and by now it has become plainly clear that promotion has never been part of the scenario. These thoughts make me ask why I feel that way and over the years I have seen us in prime positions to at least get a play-off berth but when it comes down to a vital match to take us there we always blew that chance. Why bother to try and build a new stadium if all you want us to be is a moderate Championship outfit or a real challenger in League One, especially when you hear the paying public constantly saying they want better than the usual bill of fare available at Ashton Gate? The less than stellar candidates trying to change our fortunes have obviously not worked out and despite the supposed new approach with Liam it still doesn't look like being any better than what we have seen before. Square pegs in round holes and bringing in more defenders when what we really need is an all out striker are par for the course, and here we are again apparently with an excellent squad, less the usual injuries, failing to produce the goods at home in front of some of the best supporters in the country. What or who makes us so darned inconsistent that makes it almost look like someone is preparing the script in advance to prepare the poor souls in the seats for another unfathomable defeat just as all looked well? Sooner or later the whole apathetic approach will fall on us like a ton of bricks and another new full of experience manager will arrive to be led down the wrong road much like their predecessors. Get your act together and at least look like you care about the future life blood (that's us) of your sports empire.

It’s an ongoing problem, we’ve got to find a way of beating teams that sit in. Why Twine didn’t come on, as he was brought here specifically for his ability to pass through the lines and his dead ball ability, is beyond me, if he wasn’t fit then he shouldn’t have been on the bench. At present I don’t really see what LM has achieved this season, we were able to do well on the break before he arrived, but not able to break teams done, were the same now, it’s no good saying “hes only got the same players”. We were told it was the previous coaches tactical limitations and lack of coaching that was holding us back, and that the team were good enough. LM was really poor Sat, I gave credit last week for adapting his style to suit our strengths, but NP would have set up similar then too.,it appears our present coach is finding out what NP already knew, we don’t have the players to play though the lines. Maybe NP wasn’t the problem.

The difference is LM is being given the funds to change that, I hope he is able to, it’s obvious to me we aren’t going to do any better this season than we would have under NP. Let’s hope we can bring in the players needed this summer to break teams down that sit in. If we can we should have a good chance of eventually be challenging for a top 6 next season.

We’ve been blowing it all season
As soon as we have a couple of good results and look to be in with a chance of challenging, along comes a banana skin and we’re not clever enough to avoid it
It’s the old Bristol City tease.….. win a couple of games and get within reach - only to throw it away.
Wasn’t there a chap in Greek mythology who upset the gods and had to stand in a pool of water reaching for a bunch of grapes which swayed out of reach every time?
That’s us with the playoffs!!!
