Crystal Palace are expected to sack Roy Hodgson imminently.

Oliver Glasner (left Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of last season) is the leading candidate to replace him as manager.

I read the guy at Ipswich is lined up to take over, next season, irrespective of if Palace are in the champ or if Ipswich are in the premier league.

Roy Hodgson is receiving medical attention after falling ill during a training session at Crystal Palace’s HQ.

The 76-year-old head coach suffered the worrying episode as he put his team through their paces ahead of Monday’s clash at Everton on the training pitch at the club’s Beckenham facility.

‘Unfortunately, today’s press conference will no longer take place as scheduled as Roy Hodgson was taken ill during this morning’s training session,’ read a statement.

'They cant sack me if I am in hospital'

Joking of course, hope Roy is ok.

I wish him a speedy recovery whatever his employment status.

Firing him might be doing him a favour in the circumstances.

Hopefully he is well enough to have a discussion with the Club in the coming days/weeks as it looks like his exit is imminent.Personally,I'd like to think Palace would tone it down a bit and act in a more prudent manner.

Retiring him through Ill health would be a bit more fitting in the circumstances?

Yes, might be a bit too late though the way news creeps out early these days.

I agree,I think the inevitable was ready to happen and he was about to be fired and replaced.

It's a real shame,as this is probably his final foray into Football coaching and he really doesn't deserve the word 'sacked' on the final entry on his C.V...

Hopefully he's well enough to enjoy his retirement.

Lost all respect for Hodgson after his pathetic rant about us over an on loan player from Liverpool then his cowardly showing post England being dumped out the Euros, 'why ask me I'm not in charge any more' still sticks in my throat.
Don't wish him any harm, and hope he recovers, but as for footballing matters the game has moved on.
