Not really too much to add to last game post mortem. But I’ll give it a go after watching another pretty pitiful display (apart from a short period after Ramsey came on who seemed to lift the team but if you don’t take your chances……..)

I detest this style of football; slow build up, sideways passing, no player capable of breaking the line, no pace, no driving forward in central midfield or out wide, no shots from 20 yards range, no bodies in the box etc….

Is it any wonder City have scored less goals in open play than from set pieces, and they’ve dried up?

I haven’t even started on the problems in defence!

This season started half promisingly but apart from the two derby wins and streaky away wins it’s turning into another dull and disappointing season.

We’ll probably just about get enough points to stay up - well you’d like to think so - but questions must be asked about next season’s aspirations. For me it’s not Bulut.

That’s 5 lost out of the last 6 games with a difficult away game to come. This is relegation form. The gap between the illusory play off spots and the perhaps more relevant trap door soon may (will?) be equidistant.

The two home games coming up next week will probably be the most pivotal of the season.

Other managers have been axed for less. I’m not advocating that (yet) but a winless February may cause a question or two to be asked from Malaysia.

On paper (I know, we play on grass), the squad looks stronger than it did at the start of the season. Results are getting worse.
Time for the coaching staff to earn their corn!
Valid opinion as always. I'm just wondering if the stronger squad has had time to bed in yet. I think it's three games since the close of the window all of which against clubs above us and we managed to win one. I'm sure Rambo's return is being carefully managed and the new guys are still finding their way. Just my probably overly optimistic view, but you never know.
Perhaps it's just my yearning for some stability and to stop the managerial revolving door. I'm still undecided on Bulut but as I keep saying endlessly, there remains a fundamental problem higher up at the club.
All will become further muddled in due course no doubt.

I agree with the new players bedding in comments Cling.
It's why I was surprised to see so many changes last night. I thought they would have been drip fed in.
CB is out of necessity due to injury. GK was another injury. The wing change was due to a player not being able to play against his parent club. All fair enough.
Turnbull has started 2 games in 2 different positions, then some other arbitrary changes.

I'd mentioned Bullet becoming a tinkerman before.
I'm getting increasingly concerned he's chopping and changing, HOPING to find a winning combination rather than having a vision, understanding what is available and moulding a team.

It may be that he needs to simplify the game plan, get everyone on the same page, then start moving forward.
It's why I always thought this would be a period of transition. Laying the groundwork.

Erol needs to step up.

Sorry to bang on like an old record but Bulut’s style (you know: boring, passive low tempo with no pace, creativity and flair) is just not suited to the Championship. I was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt but I’m beginning to waver on whether he’s the right man for us for the future.

I too will reiterate that I'm equally unsure about him being the future. Is it possible that the style adopted thus far is dictated by the lack of quality and pace in the squad?
Again with apologies for going on about it, I still think like those before him, he's hamstrung by the lack of football acumen at the club and of course the embargo. Judging by what some of his predecessors have alluded to, the manager has very little say regarding incoming players when there's a fee involved. Of course that could just be sour grapes but I can't help there's something to it given some of the things that have gone on.

Indeed; absolutely right. It’s patently obvious that until Dalman & Tan swallow some pride and publicly admit they’ve got the whole football side of the business wrong (again) the club will just hobble along.

They’ve got potentially their future manager on their books at the moment but who’d want to manage this club with one or both hands possibly tied behind his back?

Of course Tan and Dalman has told Bulut to play dull boring defensive football and not to worry too much about losing the odd game. Bulut has no say in team selection and tactics or substitutions , Tan tells Dalman and he passes it on to Bulut. Tan is paying all the bills, when the fans pay all the bills they can run things.I knew Bulut was clueless when we were winning 2-0 at Ipswich and he took Tanner of after he scored the one and had an assist for the other, his excuse for losing ...he was not happy with Tanner`s performance....and afte that everyone swallows his excuses.

Where to start<yikes>

I’m not going to bother.

ps Oh but I will state I think the club should refund the travelling fans after that display
I'm with you and I can't think of anything to say that hasn't been said a hundred times before. As you've said before, until the club is sorted at the top, it'll just go on bumping from pillar to post.

Consider the board got us promotion twice to the premiership it is hard to be critical of that, they obviously did a good job during those two seasons and as it is the same board now there is no reason to suggest they cannot do it again. On the other hand Malky and Warnock did not have better players but they were capable of winning games however if you want to swallow the excuses Bulut makes then be my guest.

Indeed & to compound it there’s a rumour Ramsey is out for a little while - just when we needed him for the season defining home games this week<doh>

ps Since we beat Bristol C our record is:
P 19 W 4 D 2 L 13 or put another way 14 points out of 57.
Add the fact we’ve got just 7 points out of last 33 with just a handful of goals; isn’t that sacking form?
No wonder there’s been no contract offered for next season:emoticon-0138-think

And won't be based on the insipid performances trotted out recently.

Maybe his English communication skills are not good but he seems incapable of providing any encouragement or inspiration to a below, bang average group of players.
