I don't have an opinion on it mate as it doesn't quite bother me as much as It does some. Suppose it's better to do a U turn prior to an election than make policies and U turn when in power, wouldn't you agree?
They're doomed strolls and rightly so. The more far right will go vote for reform which will be a wasted vote so happy days all round. Whether labour can/will do any better is anyone's guess but I can't see them being any worse than this corrupt load of ****s.
Ok, well that's a straight answer. Some U turns are necessary, as facts change, before or after elections. Starmer has a really long list of them though, even before reaching power. Let's all hope he's getting them out of his system now.
Let's hope so. Don't know how many U turns the Tories have made over the last 14 years. I do remember a lot before and after Brexit but that's another story.
I don’t see the issue with describing Brianna Ghey as a girl/young woman whether she had a penis or not. I don’t care if she did or didn’t. She’d quite possibly still be alive today without this complete non-issue being made into the most important thing ever (immigration aside, of course) by the morons the government relies upon. Obviously the tiny number of men who masquerade as women in order to commit crimes should be clamped down upon as any violent or sexual crime should. It’s an infinitely smaller issue than violence against women by men openly being men and the government has shown zero interest in clamping down on that either. Quite the opposite, they’ve created the conditions where it’s allowed to flourish. The grim thing amongst others with Sunak is he’s not an idiot like a Lee Anderson. He’s reading a script and chose not to divert from that knowing the situation he was in because he’s playing up to a particular segment of society who have been groomed to love it, aided by vast swathes of the media.
Your first point is plain wrong. What is causing the public animosity against trans people is not the government, but highly aggressive trans activists, that have been known to attack biological women in pursuance of their claims to be treated as biological women, entering women and girls safe spaces, sporting competitions etc. How do you clamp down on a man changing naked in front of a 6 year old girl, if, by your definition he is a woman and is entitled to be in the female changing room?
I really doubt Gary in Stoke is frothing over The Daily Mail about a group of people he’s never met because of trans activists. In these exceptionally rare instances the trans person in question should be considerate and not expose themselves in front of others. I’m sure the majority do. This is possible in every gym or swimming pool I’ve been to. If they demand the right to wave their cock in front of a child in a female space then that should be considered a crime and dealt with just as it would be if you or I did. It doesn’t seem impossible to me for venues and trans people to police this adequately and be considerate of everyone. I suspect there are far more crimes committed against trans people in what you’d consider to be the right space for them than by trans people in the wrong space. Brighton has loads of gender-neutral spaces and probably more chance of this situation occurring than anywhere in the country and everyone is able to just get on with it.
How is Watford's first point plain wrong? If somebody with a penis considers themselves to have been born into the wrong body, I'm happy enough to go along with their desire to be considered to be a woman. You are in a tiny minority of people (most straight male it seems, according to polling) who see this as being a major issue. Get over it, for ****'s sake.
There are men who get off on exposing themselves to women and girls. You're making it easy for them. If they self- identify, they can do it ( without an erection) and still be within the law. Gender neutral spaces where there are cubicles to change are entirely different. Then, what about women's refuges for abused females. I'm sure they'd enjoy some bloke in a short dress flashing his cock about. Then there is the participation of biological men in women's sport. Women are understandably exercised about this. Women's rights and feminist organisations aren't going to bend on this, and the public supports them
For a start, you've completely ignored the feminist opposition to biological men having all the rights of women. Have a look at the support JK Rowling has, a Labour supporter. How far would your tolerance of any man identifying as a woman extend? To women's refuges? If so, how would you legally prevent an abusive husband from self identifying and entering? What about sport? Any self identifying men can compete with women?
Surely feminists want equal rights for everybody? I couldn't give a **** what Rowling thinks, or what political party she supports. Of course women's refuges have to be protected (that's why they're called refuges) but which changing room people use is of no concern to me. I'm not that fussed about sport either. As I said this is a non-issue for me, as it is for the vast majority of the general public. The Tories and their lickspittle supporters in the media are just plain desperate to make this issue into something it isn't. I look forward to you seeing you outside the ladies toilets at LR demanding to check inside the knickers of all those waiting to enter.
What’s your evidence that this is a non issue for the majority of the general public? It went down like a bucket of sick in Scotland and the SNP dropped it
Seen as one of the main issues in the next election by 1% of those polled..... woke-vs-anti-woke-culture-war-divisions-and-politics.pdf (kcl.ac.uk)
