It was disappointing to read that it is their last day of trading tomorrow night. Barely a month ago, staff weren’t even aware that it was due for auction, including the manager who lived on site. It has been very much a part of our match day experience since the CTWD campaign, and is still the HQ for Supporters Trust. They offered a choice of three hand pulled guest ales at less than 3 and a half quid a pint, no long queues at the bar, always find a seat, friendly staff, etc…..If Carlsberg did match day pubs… Was it anyone else’s match day pub on here? So we need to start thinking about alternatives in similar vicinity. Anyone any thoughts? What do others use on here?
My family and I go in there and often meet up with a few HCST types. You're right it will be missed. Not a glamorous place by any means but warm and welcoming, cheap and spacious, and very City.
Watched a match in there with PLT a few seasons back. Maybe Leicester? Attended a few ST events too. Always sad when a decent pub shuts.
Not sure it will. They’ve laid off the staff and evicted the manager. It was auctioned off as potential for building apartments
Wouldn’t have surprised me, but the price it went for we on here could have had a few nights in and bought it.
