Shallow people mate. We have a new nurse at work, from Hackney. Stong accent, really broad cockney. I really can't see the fuss over someone's accent, it's all a bit shallow to judge someone on how they talk. As it happens, I really like her accent. Got no issues with how Beale speaks either.
What's your point? Mediocre at qpr. Rangers very poor position he left them in by their standards and regressing quickly. Has us going backwards fairly quickly also. His media mutterings are arrogant, self praising and not humble in the slightest. He shows no leadership qualities and I'll eat my hat if the players are playing for him. This only goes one way and its not the fault of supporters who bothered to look into this blokes very limited managerial career - He hasn't done a full season anywhere yet and his safc cv will soon be making that 3 appointments where he hasn't. Maybe he just isn't cut out for management - just a thought.
NO-ONE has been protesting about his accent. He's making stuff up to deflect away from the real issue
Copied from FB.... MORE FROM BEALE Michael Beale has continued his excellent PR pre-Stoke by claiming that Sunderland fans hate him because of his Southern accent and demanding that we respect the footballing journey he's been on. I'M NOT CRYING OVER IT "If anyone at looks at my CV, I've worked for massive football clubs so I get the expectations, that's no problem. People didn't want me here in the first place. We can say afterwards that it's about style of this or style of that, let's be honest and cut to the chase, people didn't want me so I'll come and do the work and ultimately, we'll win games or we won't. That's the reality, there wasn't a feel-good factor about me coming in which is fine, you get on with the work and I'm not crying over it. I'm a big boy and I'm experienced." LAST TWO GAMES HAVE BEEN GOOD "Personal things, I think when people are personal... if people want to criticise the way the team is playing, I'll take that. The last two games I actually think that we've played against two good football teams in this league, and they weren't better than us. That's my view and I'm allowed that view. I think if we had a bit more presence in the final third or one of the players that is injured wasn't, I think we'd have won at least one of, if not both of those games. That's my view and I'm allowed it." I AM A SOUTHERNER "If it's about the job I'm doing then it's about the job, but if it's about anything else... listen I can't change my accent or where I'm from. That's where I'm from and I'm proud of where I'm from. If it's about football then fine but I feel I deserve a little bit more respect because my journey deserves that. But people if don't want to give it, fine, I have to get on with the job." RESPECT MY JOURNEY "If you spend 16 years at Chelsea and Liverpool then you know what expectation is and what it's like, I'm a young coach who went across to Brazil so I'm not worried about taking on pressure and expectation. I've just been at a massive football club before I came to this massive football club." I DIDN'T SACK MOWBRAY "I replaced a popular manager but I didn't sack him, did I? And he'd won two in nine before he left, so are we making out now that it was all perfect? I think over the seven games, I'd have liked us to have had a couple of better results so I can accept that. There's no doubt about that and I'm happy to be judged on the team on the pitch, but I still feel that I inherited a team two points off the play-offs, now it's three. We've been in the top six in the last couple of weeks, we've lost two tough games but I didn't think the performances were terrible - anyone who is saying they are, I can't get on board on that." BLAMING THE TEAM? "I just think you're throwing negativity at the youngest team in the league with one of the lowest budgets in the league, I think you're throwing negativity at a team that doesn't deserve it. Sometimes I could say less and be less honest but that's not the sort of bloke I am, but I think people need to get behind this team." STILL GOT BELIEF "I spoke to Kyril and the club a lot before I came in about what they wanted and why they were making the change, and behind the scenes we're doing a lot of really, really good work. We haven't seen the harvest of that yet but I think it will, I've got a strong belief in this group of players. I've got a strong belief in this group of players, there's nothing to aim at them at all. I look at a group of players who are giving everything and I think the last two games were really harsh on us. If we'd won one and lost one I think that would have been fairer, if we'd have drawn two that would have been fairer. Would the noise have been the same? It probably would because people didn't want me here in the first place, so I just have to get on the job. If we continue to show the work we're doing behind the scenes, then we're going to win more games that not." KLD AND SPEAKMAN "I've got great support from Kyril and Kristjaan, we've very honest and frank each with other and we talk a lot about the day-to-day running of the club. I can't talk about why the club made the change, but there was obviously a reason for it and I'm working away at the areas that the board have asked me to improve."
Again, and I'm not doing this to be provocative, but what the hell has he said here that has made as popular as a priest on an orange walk.
I am not on his back - but three things - one "blame the team" that hasn't happened, the Southerner bit is a poor thing to bring up, I am Mr Optimist but the Hull game was not good (Ipswich we had our moments - i was there)
Ipswich was fine, was a really good tactical set up in the first half and we conceded an unfortunate goal, second half we hardly threatened and his in game management was poor and cost us the game. Hull was a shocking performance, against a team with 7 first team regulars unavailable and in their own managers opinion played their worst game of the season. Tactically we were a mess, offered very little in terms of chance creation, had no patterns of play, the press was half arsed and disjointed. Our best xG performances of the season both for and against came under Dodds, is he the only coach who can spark a bit of life into this team?
It's hardly surprising the bloke is hacked off, he was met with a wall of hate before he even stepped in the door. Him having a (very mild) push back against it is the 'fans' reaping what they sowed. Should he be doing it, probably not although it's understandable. Should we be raging against and writing off a coach before he's had his first game, absolutely ****ing not.
So you've never criticised a manager's decisions? Ha'way mate. He could also just not be very good being the main man, and be better suited to being an assistant perhaps? Doesn't strike me as a leader at all.
I'd bet if you did a search, on here, for 'fink' there'd be a fair few mocking him ... ... no problem, for me, but people have to be honest.
One of our club icons is from Hastings, another from Dublin and the greatest of all time was from Cork. We're not as parochial as he wants to believe
His accent specifically?? I have said I think that he would run people up the wrong way and his pre and post match press conferences would annoy fans. I said this in December. Maybe December 18th. And guess what it is. Massively. Massive bluffer who speaks corporate and makes excuses. North East folk see right through lads like that. And they are. Hence the backlash.
His position is completely untenable at this point, he has no future here and wether it’s fair on him or not he’s a sacked man walking as the majority of fans will never back him. He obviously hasn’t had a fair crack of the whip but it’s a moot point now as he’s way past the point of no return(I personally don’t know anyone who wants him)The club hierarchy have messed up big style appointing him in the first place and God knows what they do from here.
