Not getting into the city side doesn’t mean he hasn’t improved. Starting for Leeds and getting regular games for Man City is a monumental difference. My point is he will have learnt a lot during his time at City and won’t be worse for it. Even just training with the likes of De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva etc will teach players. West Ham is a good move for him, fwiw I would have happily took him at Spurs
Nobody is saying he’s the English Rodri or even close to that. He was bought by City because as a backup and because he’s home grown.
Pretty much every player who plays Pep says the best manager around. Last post on this because I feel like I’m repeating myself but training and playing under Pep and for the best team in the world for 18 months won’t harm a player.
Teddy Sheringham had similar time at Man United towards the end of his career, part of the Treble winning team but did not make a huge amount of appearances
I thought of him too but Scott Parker was demoted to West Ham like Kalvin and then fell even further eventually going full spursy.
Was thinking that, cba to even chuck this utter bollocks in the bin. Other than to say, he scored the ****ing equaliser in the CL final, and also one in the FA Cup final, but didn't contribute much or owt.
Oh, OK then. That season; League - 17 apps 2 goals FA cup - 4 apps 1 goals CL - 4 apps 1 goal Even more the following two seasons, also winning the league. Phillips played 89 minutes as a sub.
And the assist for the winner in the CL final. End of his career...but went on to play another couple of years for us and then another decade after that lol. I can't believe Duggie was being serious tbf.
