Not really. You can spend on 'club development' outside of impacting FFP - training facilities, infrastructure, stadium, etc. And our owners have those funds, so not a problem. It's clear we'd overspend in those areas.

The problem is they can't just hand in another £billion directly for the transfer kitty. Selling big players would of course help provide funds for new players, but I really don't think the club are in a hurry to wheel & deal like that.

I’m certain we won’t have one of our current big names next season

Why is everyone so bothered about loans? If you can't get the right player then just wait. The future of Newcastle United doesn't depend on this season.

I can't see us doing much at all this window. Maybe 1 or 2 loans just to cover positions where we have gaps due to long term injuries, but unlikely to spend big on new '1st choice' players.

Outgoings pretty limited too. Unlikely to release any actual squad members. So perhaps just new loan deals (or ideally sales) for the outcasts such as Hayden, Hendrick, Fraser, Lewis, etc.

Once the injury crisis is over, and it appears to coming to an end soon, we are in a far better position squad wise than what most give us credit for.

Isak/Wilson, Gordon/Barnes, Willock/Joelinton, Trippier/Liveramento, Bruno/Tonalii,

5 positions with good quality cover with 6 to go.

I don't think it's bad players are coming back... it's only a few weeks to see out until summer.

Agreed, like i say I'm not to worried about incoming personally would rather they dedicated the window to shipping out the dead wood. Incoming - Phillips to cover Tonali makes sense until his ban is served, Mitro/another on loan up top also makes sense with Wilson and Isak being injury prone and then save the mullah for the summer and go big with the new adidas money.

Was just saying that's why people will want loan's incoming if we don't have the spending power this window. The squad is thin at present so people want cover - think I posted something the other day saying we need 6 more quality players over the next 2 windows to be a decent team regardless of injuries.

IMO we need CB, 2x LB, 2x RW, CF to replace, Krafth, Manquillo, Dummett, Ritchie, Gillespie, Karius or if you want 3 keepers either Murphy/Almiron and then you have a really decent squad.

Calvin phillips may be a step in the right direction. If we get the best out of him he could be a CL quality player.

Solanke would be a strong sign of resigning ourselves to mid table mediocrity. Solanke may be on good form but he's potentially just another chris wood.

I don't think a striker should be our priority. I think a good right winger should be. I think the only reason we haven't signed one is because we're so confident in trippier creating that we can just play Almiron to harass players, defend and make runs to make space for tripps, but long term we need a RW.

What about Ings?

Interesting, Mitro is on £411k per week in Saudi, literally higher than any Premier League player.
That's why he dirtied his bib with Fulham, threatened to go on strike if they didn't sell him, bit of a **** really and it's not as if Fulham didn't look after him. I'd love if we got him on loan and only paid him £50k a week while his club(our owners) paid the rest, all above board of course <laugh>

Depends if you include all the payments made to city via third parties <whistle>

Prob doesn’t help ffp when clubs is loaning over 1m to one of your owners interest free to help with legal fees

I guess Phillips loan could be even more likely now with Joelinton out for next 6 weeks.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

We look so much more vulnerable without him really.

Looks like more Miley time unfortunately. No offence to the kid but without the ball he's anonymous.

Phillips is a must signing now.

We really need willock back also.

Willock not close to returning apparently, nor Anderson.
