I have a feeling they will be getting more pressured from their wives who will not be able to face not swanning around in the manner to which they are accustomed, not having everyone doing their bidding and being treated as less important than a man. Which they are as the only reason they are is the man in their life.<laugh> I think the lawyers, agents etc with one eye on the money and their commissions will be accentuating the positives whilst eliminating the negatives as the song goes,

Is it even true that he's unhappy.. or is it his agent putting out rumours to get him a contract back in Europe once his time in SA is up.

If he's on £700k a week, this is generational money, so a bit of heat outside over a two year period is nothing.

I did six months for less than 1% of that and it was alright, got a bit boring after a while, unless you're into Islam, as just bounce around shopping malls, cinemas, gym in your free time, driving around the desert gets boring after youve done it a few times. Ended up missing north Europe weather and women - the two things I did a runner from.

I suspect they'll have a job convincing a court that anyone's going to confuse the Man City training kit with Superdry brand and Asahi have a UK trade mark registration for 'Super Dry Asahi' anyway...

Superdry files trademark claim against Manchester City football club

High street fashion retailer Superdry has filed a claim against Manchester City over an alleged trademark infringement by the football club.

Superdry has requested an “injunction to restrain” Manchester City from using the words "Super 'Dry' Asahi 0.0%" on the football club's men’s and women’s team training kits.

Manchester City announced an expansion of its partnership with Japanese beer manufacturer Asahi back in July 2023. The deal includes promotion of the business's non-alcoholic Super "Dry" 0.0% beverage on the football club's kit.

The claim, which was filed in the High Court on 15 December 2023 and seen by Drapers, alleges that the two terms are too similar, saying: "The differences between Super 'Dry' and Superdry are so insignificant that they may go unnoticed by the average consumer."

The claim takes issue with the placement of the word "super" above the word "dry", which it says is too similar to the design of Superdry T-shirts. The claim adds: "The appearance of the sponsored kit is liable to deceive a substantial number of members of the UK public into believing that the sponsored kit is clothing designed or sold by the claimants."

Its a two hour hop to Dubai, so id guess wives are mainly there.

A lifetime ago I was offered a job out there. Better pay, and some, more leave. My idea of living, and their idea, there was only going to be one winner. It was not going to be me.

A friend from those days left British Gas (cushy number does not begin to describe it) to work out there. He was not expecting 12 hour days, 7 days a week. He was home in a fortnight and was fortunate enough to be re-employed in the land of easy street.

Been out there, I found it OK doing a job I enjoyed. But it's not for everyone.

Don't mind a decent neutral game between two teams that look evenly matched but not interested in the slightest in ones that look like they'll be one sided
