The Turkish Super Lig was at the centre of another refereeing controversy as Istanbulspor president Faik Sarialioglu called his team off the pitch in protest after not getting a penalty against Trabzonspor. Istanbulspor were drawing 1-1 when Florian Loshaj went down under Batista Mendy's challenge but no penalty was awarded. Trabzonspor then scored to put them 2-1 up at the other end through former Southampton striker Paul Onuachu before the Istanbulspor players were called off the pitch in the 73rd minute by their own president. The match is currently suspended.
Think they do but it's called something else....Think it's called cheat but it's the same software we use over here
At least they're doing something about it, rather than whining to go back to the old more heavily biased towards the top teams system.
Refereeing in Turkey is biased and corrupt. I cant say how I know this, but I know for a fact it is and has been for a very long time, even their best and most reputable refs do it.
They introduced VAR without considering that putting the same people in charge of it who necessitated its introduction might be a problem.
The best way to understand the the big 3 Istanbul clubs is to look at the Old Firm and then inject innate culturally normalised corruption into it, you're halfway there then.
