Agree second point. He just doesn’t have that goal scoring edge particularly anymore especially off the bench.

If it drops to him in space he'll still find a finish. I know it's only MLS, but has 6 in 12 most recently over there.

But I suspect it's as much about the influence he can have around the place as much his anticipated goal return in the first team.

Excellent signing if true...he's one of the those players who you dislike because of the clubs hes played for.....but wouldn't mind him in your team!!!!!

I'll reserve judgment until I see what else the window brings.... Hopefully he isn't Oscars replacement

Don’t think so mate, think it’s a season long loan with an obligation to buy

I'm personally okay with this move because its 100% short term and he'll bring some experience and might have an impact off the bench. However, some bizarre utterances on Blunder...Anyone would think Messi was inbound....Six goals in the MLS is hardly any kind of barometer to trust , when the so-called LA Galaxy soccer expert reckoned that all the defences are crap. Plus Blunts, Radio Sheff pundit Carl Asaba, talking like he was banging them in right, left and centre. He must have had a bang on the noggin.

Oscar got us a pretty sizeable loan fee, for someone who was going to be 3rd choice. Maybe we needed to get him off the books to sign Philogene.
Replacing Oscar with Sharp for less wages and profit seems like decent business to me. The experience and leadership he'll bring could also be invaluable.

Why do people keep bringing up Oscar?

HE'S ****ING INJURED! HE COULDN'T PLAY EVEN IF WE RECALLED HIM! JESUS H CHRIST

Also, hating him because he's a blunt is ****ing rich, considering how everyone loves Slater, and in the past loved players like Quinniesta and Maguire...

Possibly because we let Oscar go and didn't/haven't replaced him yet. Or it could just possibly be because this is a discussion forum and people are discussing Hull city, our players, incomings and targets...

Why do you keep getting so worked up over what people talk about and discuss?

Oscar is irrelevant anyway. He wouldn't fit in how we play now, not mobile enough. We won't see him again.

Well people have already said Oscar is injured and have just ignored it and carried on, so maybe people should, I don't know... read the posts they're apparently discussing?

And you're saying I'm getting so worked up? The past several pages of this thread are people wetting themselves over a FREE transfer for a backup striker (who has a great record at this level) and who will only improve our current crop of attackers in areas such as finishing (a complaint many have spoken up about our attack, the lack of a ruthlessness) as if it's the only signing we'll be making! One of the complaints being the clubs he's played for? Who genuinely and seriously gives a **** who he previously played for?!

It's not strictly true that he hasn't been replaced. Delap is really the Linchpin up top which was the role Oscar never really got to grips with.

And whilst he hasn't scored 7 in 6 like Oscar, he's on track to be there or thereabouts in terms of comparable goal tally over a season. And he ain't injured or unable to get a starting place half the time either.

Not mobile enough, not available enough and doesn't create for others.

Players get injured all the time, from now on do we all just stop talking about anyone who's injured just incase it annoys you?

Not sure anyone has wet themselves, just discussing an incoming player and the positives & negatives of it..... How dare they

Irony considering we have a board design Sharp as a good signing.

No, we just don't berate the club for getting rid of a player who's often injured and say it's a mistake when Lo and behold he's injured again, whilst at the same time we're getting greater return from the forward line that's replaced him anyway.

Ok maybe I should have said we haven't replaced the forward players we lost, we are still very light up top
The club left itself very light up top with how the summer window panned out, hopefully we have learnt from it
