i get this & understand it, I want these things too but I don’t want to get dicked in practically every game by the big boys. Look at Burnley & sheff utd.
I would much rather be competitive in the championship than cannon fooder in the prem

If we dominated the Championship then we would be in the PL. Don’t think you can turn down promotion after winning the League.

Would love to go up this year after beating Leeds at Wembley. We have beaten the Fowls and Blunts at Wembley. Would love to make it a clean sweep by beating TWS there.

I'd argue that under this ownership we're more like Brentford or Brighton, more recent examples, than the clubs mentioned above who were still run as provincial clubs by local businessmen

Aren't Brentford and Brighton owned by local businessmen, while Burnley and Sheff Utd have international owners?

Think the operative part of the statement was ' run like provincial clubs' which Brighton and Brentford most certainly aren't.

There are successful foreign owners, there are successful local owners. What matters most is the strategy - and having deep pockets obviously helps.

Leicester City made mugs of the whole Prem League when winning the title. Things can come together. Never lose the hope.

Deportivo won the Spanish League twice
Lens the French
Wolfsburg the German.

It’s rare but a great poke in the eye for the entitled.

Let’s face it. The two ventures under Allam would’ve been successful if not for the behind the scenes issues. They withheld every penny they could and the infrastructure suffered for it. They wanted to build new ground and new training facilities but threw their toys out the pram when everything didn’t work.

tad unfair - old man Allam invested a small fortune in the team - debt went to £100 million in his second season in the Prem - Bruce ****ed up and got us relegated and after that confidence in him went and he was given no more money and it was all about getting the debt paid back - which they eventually did when Acun took over

In fairness I was more referring to the infrastructure. The training ground being as it is falls on the Allams.

To be fair then, they deserve credit for what they did with the youth set up and how much it progressed under them. We are now starting to see the fruits because of it..

A proper training ground should have absolutely been done though by them and previous owners

Allam taking all his money out had absolutely **** all to do with Bruce.

and that's why I get frustrated and p'eed off at times. I want us to be the best we can be and it's frustrating, even after all these years of supporting, when we aren't performing near where we can. Cardiff game was wonderful, long may it continue.

I think it’s just more frustrating this season because we can see the quality is there (and we are now backed by fantastic ownership). I am normally a lot more laid back as a fan but it’s that fear of a potentially missed opportunity that creeps in.

Saying that, the table does look A LOT better after the last two results! I am happy and believe we are in a true position at the moment. <party>

Allam taking all his money out had absolutely **** all to do with Bruce.

it had everything to do with Bruce - the debt was increased from £70 million to £100 million - Bruce was given £40 million to spend, then got us relegated - Allam was never going to trust Bruce with the money ever again - and he didn't so he left - old man Allam wasn't rich enough to keep pumping tens of millions into city and coupled with the fans protests at the name change he pulled the plug until he got his 'gift' back

If he didn't trust Bruce then he'd have just sacked Bruce, not forced him out by undermining him, selling all our assets and ringing every penny possible out of the club for the next 5 years, resulting in a trip to league 1.

He spat his dummy and out took his ball home because he didn't get his way with the name change and the council wouldn't give him the stadium for vitlrtually nothing.

It's that simple.

I know the above is the line Ehab trotted out, when selling the fans the **** sandwich of disinvestment and managed decline - but it misses the glaring truth that Bruce had just got them promoted again, therefore unlocked more guaranteed revenue than the debt at the time his position was made untenable.

So that 'excuse' just doesn't add up. Frankly.

It had everything to do with his name change attempt going tits up. He loved Bruce.
