Long way Southampton to LeicesterWe had our chances as we did at Leeds-thought we did ourselves proud and a customer of mine son lives in Southampton and was sat in the home end they were impressed by us and thought we were a decent team.
LM can’t do anything right, wins it’s because of Nige’s team, loses its Nige would have won that.exactly, he will be editing his LJ out banner over christmas…. While wet dreaming of a return of his beloved Nige![]()
There’s an easy way out of this situation for him, start winning games, any manager ultimately is judged on that yardstick, most fans will forget about the previous manager, and the details of his departure if we start winning and move up the table. Fail to achieve success and rightly or wrongly people will question his appointment.LM can’t do anything right, wins it’s because of Nige’s team, loses its Nige would have won that.
I’m giving him to January is just a excuse to say “told you so”
Yet he says he knows why Nige was sacked and can’t blame the board.
Same goes for Nige, his record at city wasn't all that. I didn't want him sacked but if he had won more games he might still be hereThere’s an easy way out of this situation for him, start winning games, any manager ultimately is judged on that yardstick, most fans will forget about the previous manager, and the details of his departure if we start winning and move up the table. Not really comparing like for like, Nige was brought here to steady the ship during difficult times, he achieved his goal, Manning was brought here to improve results this season and beyond. he hasn’t achieved his goal yet, so the way the two are judged are different.Same goes for Nige, his record at city wasn't all that. It’s not BS, he was brought in to steady the ship and reorganise, then to push on, they got rid before he had the opportunity to do the latter, he may or may not have failed we’ll never know as he wasn’t given the chance, Manning was brought here because the board didn’t feel Nige was up to the last phase, but Manning would be, at present its not working out that way. But we’ll see, hopefully he’ll turn things around.Nige wasn’t just brought in to steady the ship, what BS!! He was brought in to progress the team with his deep experience, while operating on a small/medium Championship budget. Too many are giving Nige a free pass, as he let all the high earners leave annd reduced the wage bill, and ignore the fact we finished in the bottom half every season he was in charge….

It’s all about context, when he took over we were shocking and looking over our heads re ffp, when he was appointed he said it would take 3 years to turn around, when he left we were 3 points off 6th place, with a squad that we all knew was lacking numbers, with many first teamers out injured. Look how well the new guy is coping despite several players being back from injury. Before he had chance…. He had almost 3 years, that’s a lifetime in the football manger world.
I can name at least one ex-manager who hasn’t been forgottenThere’s an easy way out of this situation for him, start winning games, any manager ultimately is judged on that yardstick, most fans will forget about the previous manager, and the details of his departure if we start winning and move up the table. Got to be Cotts, our only manager to have gained honours in years...I can name at least one ex-manager who hasn’t been forgotten![]()
dont even go there pleeeseI can name at least one ex-manager who hasn’t been forgotten![]()
You could look at that two ways. When he came he had more than enough players, used to playing at upper level of Championship. Granted there was a load of deadwood but it was Nige’s choice to let them go free. It’s all about context, when he took over we were shocking and looking over our heads re ffp, when he was appointed he said it would take 3 years to turn around, when he left we were 3 points off 6th place, with a squad that we all knew was lacking numbers, with many first teamers out injured. Sorry - I won’t mention Cotts anymoredont even go there pleeese

NP HAD AN EASY START TO HIS 3 YEAR DEAL in as much as he had all that time to clear out the "unwanted and bring in the wanted " knowing he had a budget that progressed from £zero.. I didnt want him sacked, had grown to accept his ways of doing things and we were chugging along till injuries got better and we could field a "first team"
However you do need to compare like for like whether it is pre NP or post NP. early days for LM yet next 5 games need to get at least 9 points or that could be top 6 out the window!and another season wasted in swapping captains mid-voyage
