Really? I never thought he was amazing by any means at the time but when I look back he took over at United after a 6th place finish then managed a 3rd then 2nd in the PL with United when Liverpool and City were dominant. McKenna spoke really highly of him on a video he done for the coaches voice and loved working with him so no doubt they share a lot of the same ideas etc and having a closer link with United could only be a good thing.
He definitely needs to be on the watchlist. The way he talks about football is brilliant. Really simple, but so effective in what he says. Never can be sure but I wouldnt be surprised to see him go on to big things somewhere.
Yes mate, he is. Caretaker for a few games at the minute. Think he is involed on the ownership like you say.
Think you mentioned the short corner ramble he went on. He's right and the data does back up that short corners are more effective, the moans and groans at the SoL when we take one short are amusing
That is him. Stats say less than 3% of corners result in goals across europe. So he decided to change the whole concept around and refused to knock it in. Hey presto, top shots on target and goals from corners by a mile in their league. Not rocket science, but a simple thought process with good results.
Just my opinion. I thought he was really limited in every aspect but maybe the players liked him. He got a load of support and credit because it was Utd. Romance and all that. If we go for someone a bit older then there are some much better candidates, if we are paying the money. Said it a few times today but Nuno would be streeta aheas of someone like OGS. Accept he might not look twice at us, but he is elite level if we are really being ambitious.
True. But have we not done a bit better lately with the short ones? I've thought we should use them more for ages Mind. If nothing elses. It takes away a lot of the holding and blocking, it's just harder to get away with that stuff when the ball doesn't come straight in.
I think we're rubbish at them but we've scored a fair few from set pieces this year and is classed as one of our strengths on whoscored
I like OGS he was doing really well at utd then they forced Ronaldego on him and ruined his progression through youth. I bet Amad would be smashing it if he’d stayed.
He's supposed to be the dogs bollocks according to the football hipsters. Looks like it's one of: Hellberg Still Sable. I'm more than happy to trust the board and definitely welcome the thought process behind it but I would be a bit worried if it was Sable.
