Very impressive card at Kempton Park today and a very important one for me as it sees the fencing bow of Mr Henderson’s Mossley. I really think the world of this one and my regular readers may recall that after his Grade 2 hurdles win at Cheltenham, last December, I predicted that he would win the 2013 CGC. And I have seen little since to alter that view.

It’s a terrible cliché but whatever this one did over hurdles was always going to be a bonus as chasings his game a point that can be bourn out by the fact that Mossley was competing in the Irish pointing field as early as his 4YO year. The fact that he was a Grade 2 winner and also finished runner up in the Championship 3 mile novice race at Cheltenham bodes excellently for his future which appears very, and I do mean very, bright.

At 2/9 though Mossley is not a bet for me as I think anyone who takes a short price in any novice chase should immediately be certified. Watch it with interest though, people. Providing his jumping holds and as long as the Gerraghty boy doesn’t steer him onto the old polytrack then Mossley should begin his chasing term with an easy win.

In fact Mr Henderson should have a very good day at Kempton as he also has some other ‘nice ‘uns’ entered at the meet.

Does anybody else think it is worth taking on Chablais in the 2m Novice Chase. Escort'men has always promised to be very smart, and was talked off as a potential Champion Hurdler at one time. He has clearly had his problems but I just thought that he might be able to beat Chablais over 2m today. The Henderson horse has always looked a stayer in the making and was only a length or so ahead of Sybarite in his Novice Hurdle, a horse that has been made to look decidedly one paced since. He might well bolt up but thought with today's conditions seemingly more in favour of Escort'men, Chablais might be worth opposing.

On the flipside, Darlan and Mossley look formalities in their respective races.

Any thoughts?

Zen, in racing we see many upsets and you may be onto something. I wouldn't be taking short prices about novices.

Zen - Escort'Men is the bet in that race at 11/8 - I fancy him to beat Chablais. Loved his chasing debut and Nicholls said all his needed the run at the time. He has better form than Chablais at the moment. Chablais obviously could be anything and whilst it was impressive when he won here on only his 2nd start that form is nothing special

That is the other thing RV. Escort'men has the better hurdles form, and all over today's trip. Chablais is clearly promising but looks like he will want further and needs to step up on what he has shown already. Also, a huge positive having Ruby Walsh on side in such a race. A great tactician in these small field affairs. It's possible to argue that the prices should be the other way round I suppose. I do know that Chablais is well thought of though. Sure to be interesting.

8. Ive got a bit of a thing going on the Bet 365 4/1+ races at the moment which has resulted in me turning to selective betting on these races only and at the same time to enusre i meet the Bet 365 criteria looking for a bit of value at odds of at least 4/1. Todays race are the 2.35 Kempton and the 3.00 Ffos Las.

In the 2.35 i like PHARE ISLE, who with his useful 7lb claimer runs off a rating of which is only a 1lb higher than his win over hurdles. Recently he has attempted chasing but doesnt seem too confident and returns to hurdles again today after his first run out this season resulted in a him making up the numbers but showing enough to suggest that he could be involved today when running on two out over 2m 4f and the extra 4f today may be far enough for him to get competitive, add to all of this that the stable is 2 wins and 1 place from 6 over the last 14 days. And we have nice EW bet at 16/1.

In the 3.00 over at Ffos Las WAR OF THE WORLD interestingly Tim Vaughan has two runners here today, however, my selection showed signs of returning to his best after a lengthy break when a distant 5th in Class 1, Grade 2 Company and takes a significant drop in grade today and is very well handicapped and at odds of 7/1 is another attractive EW proposition.

Good luck to all who play today <ok>

60/1 accum (paddy power)

Darlan 12.30 Kempton

Top Of The Range 12.50 ffos Las

Owen Glendower 1.10 Ludlow

Violin Davis 1.30 Kempton

Foxbridge 1.45 Ludlow

Mossley 2.05 Kempton

Midnight Appeal 3.10 Kempton

Decent single bet on ESCORT'MEN 1.00 Kempton

This might get taken down soon but please enjoy it. Absolute goosebumps at the final couple of fences as Simon Holt gets more and more animated

I also think 16/1 is a big price on Phare Isle in the 2.35 at Kempton

However, my preference is for Spanish Cruise at 11/1, also e/w <ok>

Hello lads.

Nothing takes my eye today but am keen to canvas the opinion of Non 606'ers on the FHM sexiest filly (or mare,no ageism please) for 2012.

Always a tricky betting heat this,with many of us having very diverse tastes when it comes to the old crumpet.Latest betting on the favourites;

5/2 Rosie Huntingdon Whitely - Bit on the leg but a good mover and well bred.
5/2 Pippa Middleton - Well related sort.
6/1 Rihanna - Powerful filly with lovely big back wheels.
6/1 Mila Kunis - Nice looking Russian bred with great stud potential.
9/1 Kate Middleton - Classy mare already in foal.
12/1 Cheryl Cole - Not fashionably bred but has a lovely confirmation.
12/1 Nicole Scherzinger - Quirky and tempremental type but very talented.

Any thoughts where the value lies?

Is it my imagination, or has Hendo got off to a blazing new season? Seems his winner won't stop today. It seem that anything he throws a saddle on has a chance.

PS Kauto has a massive neck on him.

Haven't had a chance to study the form but my initial thought is to lay the lot.
