We don’t need a new manager, we need an experienced centre forward it’s that plain and simple. Put an experienced centre forward in that side and we are flying, we all know there’s plenty of money in the pot after the RS sale so let’s see what KS does with it in January. Hopefully we can keep on the coat tales of the top 6 until then. Burstow for me should be sent back in January if possible, I would rather persevere with our own youngsters getting minutes.

agreed. And I trust the ownership to find that manager if they deem sacking appropriate. They might not, and I back them with that as well
Generally Mogga has done well with young players and generally we've played some good stuff. Controlled the majority of games we've played barring the odd spell. He's played Rigg, he's given jobe loads of time, mayemda is getting minutes for first time in this country, same with hemir, anouche, bennette,.seelt etc etc. It's not easy for him, it's pretty obvious the most effective players we have are ones with experience of English football. But there isn't much experience behind them and it's going to take time.

We overperformed last season and most, i think will agree, that to make the play offs was a massive achievement and surprising.

Rightly so expectation levels are high this season

Im a realist, OK Im disappointed with recent results but not surprised

Maybe emotions are running high with our fanbase because of last seasons overachievements.

Patience is a virtue

Yet another managerial change which is now becoming nearly an annual event will do my head in

Anyhow, who will we get ? Sack him after a year, same old same old

Pissed off

Nice to see Roberts in his correct position back on the wing and creating opportunities, Pritchard is a lot better number ten than Adil and links the play a lot better and the second half at least we carried a threat . Things were not back to NORMAL but we salvaged a point and we did not lose the game we could easily have , the changes made strengthened the resolve of the team and might be the way to get us moving in the right direction - we all hope !

sacking Johnson for Neil paid off like.

I trust the club to do the right thing. Whether that’s sack or no sack

all valid but under this argument, no clubs should ever sack any manager ever.

Ipswich sacked Paul Cook after just 9 months, and appointed Kieran McKenna. I bet they’re not currently wishing they’d seen it out with Cookie. (I’m being facetious here - but for every negative example of a sacking there’s a positive one)
100% correct for me. Timing is everything. Bit so is a match to style and ambition. McKenna has matched perfectly to Ipswich. Up until the last 3 games I think Mowbray has matched us perfectly. I see no reason why he cant turn this round, honestly I cant, and I genuinely see no reason for a new head coach. Now of course if the club could get Potter I would want that, but realistically that seems unlikely unless KLD is willing to spend on this post and arguably he hasnt so far. 3 points off top 6 is all we are, in a supposedly tougher league than last yeat when we ran hot after christmas. I would personally stick in and graft as a club, we have some decent people coaching in my opinion.

You're a pragmatic fella.

Can I ask, what point to you see in keeping Tone when he simply isn't going to be here next year? We are not going up. Won't get relegated, so why not give a new man a 6 month head start, to have a proper go next year.

Tone either leaves at Christmas or June. But he will leave

I disagree mate. I think we have seen enough now of Burstow (i was pleased he started today but was out of his depth imo), and Hemir who to me looks like a youth team footballer in a mans body. Mayenda just looks raw, but with attributes. Rusyn is the best of the lot by a mile but has had a massuve upheaval in coming here and I have no idea what his home situation in Ukraine is like. Bottom line is these lads were always a bit of a punt and right now lool like massive works in progress to me. All have a chance to make it in time, but I reckon Mowbray is right to call it out. Honestly, for me, unless Rusyn is fit I would leave the rest on the bench and play Dack as a false 9.
Well said marra, very good analysis of our current front 4

Feels that way. It's a shame, I really want to have a manager for 5 years and see the squad grow, but will admit Mowbray isn't that man. Roy Keane was the last manager to reach 100 games. That says a lot

He's a good coach, will develop the young players and get them ready for a big push next season

Apart from the chuck them all on approach, have we tried to play with 2 up top? Old fashioned it may be but I'd like to see Rusyn play off a bigger striker.
It's not a popular opinion these days, but a diag from the full back to the tall striker who flicks on to the fox in the box can work quite well.

He's not only a good coach, he has good people alongside him who trust him and vice versa ...

... changing the manager means massive upheaval at a club that's making every player improve in one way or another.

In the meantime, how desperate is Burstow to be a top player?

I would like to see one them played with dack or Pritchard behind them for a run of games from the start. That bit of experience there could help pick out their runs and create more chances. Remember a cup game early in the season dack telling bennette where to run. Things like that will help young inexperienced players.

Options are there in the squad, they just need to be used I guess.

Would love to see something like this

Patto
Seelt Ballard O'Nien
Huggins Neil Ekwah Clarke
Pritchard
Rusyn Mayenda

Think it provides us with a bit more defensive solidity without taking too much away from the attacking side of things. Electric pace up front with Pritch picking out the runs. Clarke can still play as high as he usually does because of O'Nien covering the space behind. Possibly harsh on Hume but I prefer Huggins as an attacker and would like Seelt for his height.

At this present moment, I don’t think there is any competition. Huggins is our best fit full back by a country mile for me! If all were fit, he’d start with Cirkin on the other side. Said when I saw him play before injury that he looks a cracking player, opinion hasn’t changed at all!!
