and they are building a new stadium ! had this happened in April they would have went down, Everton relegated us in 1977 so not bothered.
Couldn't be happening to a worse set of fans...no sympathy from me.
As for their appeal they got 10 instead of 12 points so think they're wasting their time and money if they appeal.

They're a dreadful bunch of supporters in all of my experiences with them, I'd love them to go down.
Whatever happens they're symptomatic of Premier League clubs who always believe they'll be fine because of the vast amounts of money coming in from TV, etc, and the goodwill that football attracts. They've spent vast amounts on a new stadium and more huge amounts on players. They broke the rules to avoid relegation so I hope those relegated sue them and win.

To me 10 points is no real punishment at this moment in time. They have half a season plus to climb back up the table and the 3 teams at the bottom with them make it even less if a punishment.
They should have been punished last season. 10 points last season would probs have sent them down.
If you can't punish them retrospectively then make it 20 points! Where do they get the number 10 from? It's 3 wins and a draw ffs.

I actually believe they have picked the exact number of points so they don’t go down but look as though they’ve been punished.
Strange how they decided Everton broke the rules so quickly yet Man City and Chelsea still await their fate!
It’s a waste of time, its up there with a transfer ban mid season.

Yes and no. The “big teams” are obviously better at exploiting the loopholes left by the big grey ares the football bosses leave. The fact that they are left us, of course, to ensure that they are there to be exploited. Money runs the game. Thus is why they are trying to ban the Saudi loans. Stop trams like the mags exploiting that

Everton admitted their guilt on 1 charge. The time since has been eaten up because they didn't agree a penalty and an independent panel had to look through the evidence and suggest a penalty. Everton probably knew this was their only way to avoid a points deduction happening last season and is why the penalty statement refers to them not cooperating.
Chelsea self- referred to UEFA for payments relating to the period 2012 to 2019; on 28th July 2023 they issued a statement saying "following an analysis by the UEFA Club Financial Control Body, the club has entered into a settlement agreement with UEFA. Under that settlement the club is to pay a financial contribution of €10 million to UEFA as a fixed payment" so that issue is concluded.
However, new charges might be on their way as just this Wednesday (15th Nov) The Guardian published a piece (Cyprus Confidential) about how millions of leaked offshore files show a series of payments worth tens of millions over a decade, routed through offshore vehicles belonging to Abramovich, with beneficiaries appearing to include the agent of Eden Hazard, an associate of manager Antonio Conte, Chelsea FC officials and others connected to purchases of Willian and Samuel Eto’o.
City are facing something like 115 charges and won't admit to any wrongdoing. I expect that case to last at least a couple of years, excluding appeals.
If City are found guilty on over 100 counts then a simple points deduction shouldn't be enough. Relegation would be the only sanction that would be nearly severe enough and, if left to me then I would expunge their records over the period of offending.
The City ownership and board members responsible should also be declared unfit to own/run a football club, be disqualified from football for at least 5 years.

It’s all a pisstake man. I don’t care for Everton nor do I care for any other team in the PL but I don’t think many of them abide by the rules they just make sure their dodgy sponsorships and backhand business is just about enough to warrant their over-spending.
In the last 3 years Everton’s transfer business has seen them actually running at a profit of about +£70m - one of only two clubs (along with Brighton) who’ve profited. In the same period United are -£490m in the red. They always just about seem to get enough to cover the amount of they’re allowed to lose under FFP and last time they were “investigated” along with Leicester and West Ham it got brushed under the carpet.
Villa sold their stadium to one of their owners companies a few years ago for £57m (the exact amount needed to beat their FFP charge) then leased it straight back.

Was a nice Bordeaux for us last night! Very tasty
Used to like a Bordeaux when we lived in France, 1€ 50 a bottle from Lidl, spoilt us when we returned to England, never got used to paying wine prices here although obviously we had to.
Corbiers was another we enjoyed.
We lived at Montlaur near Lagrasse at the center of Corbières. The local wine is Corbières-Boutenac and we could just turn up with a container and pay by the gallon
