I'm afraid Chelsea are breathing down our necks and will overtake Newcastle in the next gameweek. Newcastle will do well to finish 9th.
I pointed this out last week because it was clear to anyone that knows the basics that Chelsea were improving and was laughed at
They are it's just Newcastle played poorly mate. Chelsea unlike Bournemouth are capable of being very good.
At home we'll have a chance yes but seriously Chelsea are much improved was evident vs arsenal Tottenham and today even more so.
Almiron pulled out of the Paraguay squad with a hamstring injury, don't know how bad it it and Wilson out of English squad ffs
They weren't improving at all, they were dogshite against Spurs and only just got a win with a 2 man advantage for the majority of the game. If you said that last week, you were talking utter ****e.
I completely disagree? they were much better vs arsenal spurs and then since I pointed it out went and got a result vs City scoring 4 goals. It's knowledge regards basics the game that allowed me to notice them improving. They move the ball faster and get after it and you can clearly see they're now a dangerous side.
Not ideal, although he looked a bit lost against both Dortmund and Bournemouth, so not really sure it will be a huge miss.
It's basically something like: Original plan; 21/22 - avoid relegation 22/23 - stabilise in the league and maybe go on a cup run 23/24 - enhance the squad, keep best players and push for maybe a European place and again a cup run 24/25 - New kit deal, Saudia sponsorship, huge differences in commercial revenue, significantly strengthen, aim for a Cup and/or CL place depending on European commitments 25/26 - Challenge for the title. It's probably something like that, more or less. The pressure and strains of CL football coming about 2 years sooner than expected have hit us - but I would imagine the same goals for 23/24 of trying to get a cup or Euro place remain. That's the quality of the squad. Any fans believing we should be winning every match, getting to late stage CL or even expecting to qualify again aren't being realistic, particularly with Spurs/Chelsea spending milllions and having no mid-week commitments. Solid, high-level players to ensure your squad doesn't drop takes another £500m. We will be in a position to spend more in Jan, more again in Summer and this will perpetuate with the new commercial deals. Then the injuries/rotation will be easier to do - there's no way the board/Howe thought Burn, Targett, Lascelles, Murphy, etc., would be playing CL football but that's the hand they were dealt. I think Howe has to take a bit of responsibility for the stresses and strains on the squad, but he's bound to need to learn, it's his first rodeo.
They threw away a 2 goal lead vs Arsenal, lost at home to Brentford, only just beat Spurs despite having a 2 man advantage, and only got a point against City with a penalty deep into injury time. It's hardly rocket science to see they're a bit ****e right now.
