I quoted him. He said he was initially pushed or 'shoved', then went down of his own accord, getting punched twice as he did so. As I said, very unpleasant, but it is a minor incident at the end of the day. I've never made any excuses for thuggery, racism or aggression and have consistently said that any law-breaking should be fully dealt with by the police. My moral compass is in tact, thank you very much. You really are losing it though, Goldie. Try climbing out of the GBeebies swamp for a few days.
It seems my fact-finding is more thorough than yours, Strolls, whatever news media I use. Or maybe you just close your eyes to what you don't want to see.
I wouldn't really expect that one minor incident taking place in Edinburgh - as deplorable as it may be - should be brought to my attention as if it represented an existential threat to British society, though. That's the difference, I think.
Again, you are downplaying all that is happening. You have as much objectivity and perspicacity on this issue as your fallen idol, Jeremy Corbyn
I hereby invoke the new equivalent of Godwin's Law, whereby any Tory losing an argument raises the spectre of Jeremy Corbyn.
Wouldn't apply on this occasion, since Jeremy, good friend to Hamas, has a dog in the fight I recommend you transfer your allegiance to that sensible man (on this issue, anyway), Sir Keir.
Just one logical question here. How can an Arab possibly be Anti-Semitic when they are, themselves, Semitic and there is no such thing as a separate Jewish race ? In fact the Arabs are more semitic in appearance than someone like Benjamin Netanyahu who is quite clearly (by appearance) European just like most of the hardline Zionists (so maybe they are the real Anti-Semites). Strangely enough those Jewish people who had always lived in the area were, and are not, Zionists and neither are those Jews who had lived/live in Muslim countries such as the large Jewish populations in Morocco and Iran.
I'd refer you to the Oxford Dictionary. Antisemitism is defined as hatred of or prejudice against Jewish people. That won't include Arabs
And I would refer you to the definition of Semite - ''A member of any of the peoples who speak or spoke a Semitic language including in particular the Jews and Arabs''. What has happened is that the Jews have taken over the expression as their own. So I ask again - how can an Arab be Anti-Semitic ? As an aside does Netanyahu look ''Semitic'' ie. as if he belongs to the Middle East ? No, in fact he looks just as European as any of us - that's because he is, just like most of the hardline Zionists. The creation of Israel was nothing other than a European colonial land grab - over the heads of the existing inhabitants at the time (including the truly Semitic Jewish ones).
Hilarious. Andrew Lawrence, the 'comedian' who doesn't like the piss being taken out of UKIP and who was dropped by his agents after he tweeted about black players missing penalties in the Euro final.
I'm arranging a march to protest against all the others who are marching, was thinking of doing it in March cos it's a wee bit nippy at the moment. Anyone in?
I wouldn’t say Jews took it over. The word has just evolved over time to commonly refer to racism against Jews. Really a more accurate word would just be “racism”.
Very good David Baddiel documentary on C4 tonight looking at racism directed at Jewish people. Watch David Baddiel: Jews Don't Count | Stream free on Channel 4
Having said that, he just did a piece on children in Jewish schools doing drills on how to protect themselves if they should come under attack. Awful that they need to do this, but why have Jewish schools in the first place?
