The last game seems to have canged alot of opinions on bruce through the ranks i was jus twondering now where do people stand on the topic of Steve Bruce and Sunderland
I honestly don't know where I stand with Bruce anymore. Yesterday was an eye opener for me. Bruce seems intent in making all the mistakes that people on here have been warning of for months. I can understand playing one up front away to Man U. One up at home against Fulham? Bringing Noble on with absolutely no time to do anything except walk off with boos ringing around the ground. Apparently if we make it to Dec 1st without a Premier manager getting sacked it will be the first time in 100 years. Defeat next week will surely see Bruce **** that up to.
I cling on to the hope he can turn it around in the next three games and prove to be the manager we all wanted him to be...........but in my heart I don't think he can
The longer Bruce stays as manager, the worse our season will get, the more long term damage if will do and more importantly, the less chance we will have of securing a decent replacement. If Martin o Neill was the manager for next week, I'd put my house on up winning. If its Bruce, I can't see past a draw and a win yetad be a complete shock. Even against a sorry shower like wigan. I haven't felt this low at Sunderland since we finished on 15 points. I was close to wrapping it in then and I'm very close to cancelling my dd this week too.
We are officially awaiting the inevitiable Cestria... as the alternative scenario is so bleak that some fans will turn their back on the club once and for all. We have a very delicate situation which was initially caused by the 15 and 19 point situations along with the 17 game losing streak. Bruce is compounding those memories as each day passes... I hope Short acts very quickly now... If Short has lost interest then we are up the creek.
He needs to sort it for the next few games. Our defence is sorted i feel, we havnt been turned over (yet) and we are keeping games pretty tight, our midfield is hmm a bit too defensive, sess is great but a bit greedy, but then if they were all flying into the top corner he would just be great, so thats a fine line, We need to get Bendtner into the game more, in the box i mean, no good him going out on the wing all the time just to get into it, Whickams injury was a blow, Campbells injury was a massive blow. Defense fine just lacking cover unless Bramble gets off scott free. Midfield, just think it lacks quality and pace, Elmo has the pace, but cant cross, Larsson has the crossing, but no pace (which is what you usually find with wingers, with the odd exception Nani, Ronaldo etc) Attack, could be fine with players back, its just not clicking especially with 1 up front. We just need a striker to get on a bit of a scoring streak, and i think things will be fine, the hard part is getting one to go on a scoring streak.
I honestly don't think Bruce has a few games. Anything but a win next week will cause an all out revolt among fans which Short may find very hard to ignore.
Newcastle fans voting in favour of Bruce proves that the fans of SAFC that would like to see Bruce removed are correct, unless ofcourse they genuinely empathise with our position. Come on down Newcastle fans, push that 'save bruce button'. The obvious is becoming obvious! Your making the bob a job task so much easier!
Newcastle are 15 points ahead of us, we havnt won a derby since Bruce took over, of course they are going to say he is the right person, and keep him, doesnt mean all Sunderland supporters should say get rid.
Not bothered about their opinions mate.... More so ours, se your hanging in their for Bruce...respect for that.
yes i am as sometimes its better the devil you know, than the one you dont. has it all been champagne and roses, of course not, is it as bad as everyone makes out, not quite/not yet anyway. I just think sometimes longevity with a manager is better than chopping and changing every couple of years (it nearly always is actually). Its just not doom and gloom as some here are making out, we have the makings of a good team/squad, we just need to score some bloody goals.
We cannot turn it round at all, all I saw yesterday was a pub team, that's what we have been reduced to, Ellis Short needs to make the decision while there a decent managers available who want to manage in the premier league, otherwise in January the player exodus will start, don't forget, we are almost halfway through the season & relegation is looking more & more likely
I have always wanted the lads to win, in all my years of support however against Wigan i am undecided, if it hastens Bruce out, then it must be a good thing for our club, He doesn't have the balls to resign, and probably in his own mind thinks he is doing a sterling job, however his record speaks for itself, if we ever hope to move forward it will be with this idiot gone and a manager in place who can fire the team up and is tactically aware, would love Hiddink
Fair one mate, i may have jumped shps recently, but still cling to the slim hope that he can turn it around..
If we let the opportunity of appointing Martin O'Neill pass us by whilst O'Neill is out of work and actively looking for work then I will no longer believe that anybody at SAFC is capable of making the correct decision. As each games passes the prospect of taking over from the shoddy byproduct of 2.5 years of 're-building' by Steve Bruce becomes less and less appealing. New manager ASAP and give him a few quid in Janurary. Ta.
