Don’t agree. Can easily be in control while tackling with both feet. As shown by fact that he won the ball and didn’t touch sterling.

20 years ago that’s a clean tackle and not even a foul. Games gone soft
well he did catch Sterling but not too much as he saw the danger coming and anyway the rule is

SERIOUS FOUL PLAY

A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play.

and that tackle met those criteria

A two footed twckle isn’t an auto red card btw. It’s not more a red card than a tackle with 1 leg.
it’s only a red card if it meets the below.
Given he didn’t touch sterling I’d say that he wasn’t endangering safety of the player

You posted what constitutes a red card and yet you don't seem to have read it as you stopped at "endangers the safety of an opponent..." and based your argument on that. Reading on it says "or uses excessive force or brutality". He used excessive force which warrants a red card.

What matters is what the rules are, not whether we choose to agree with them or not - and not whether or not those rules were the same in the past.
It was a red.

I think it'd now likely only 2 English clubs go forward in the cl.

how will this affect the 5th placed spot for next season?

Well it seems to me that if utd lose tonight then we look set for two 4 placed finishes.

we might need all 3 trophies won by English clubs

Surely any tackle can meet that criteria?

It was a red.

According to the referees who implements the rules it wasn’t a red.

Newcastle are more likely to go through after Milan win than if psg won to be fair. It’s not back in their own hands.

Arsenal and City should go through.
United who knows

Newcastle are up against it, but the group is tight so there's still everything to play for.
Man U could be second in their group after tonight, so it's still too early to write them off.

As much as I love watching the Utd fans join in our rage against the machine I do have sympathy there lols
Although those that live in glass houses lmao
