Big difference here with this conflict and the Ukrainian one, is Russians and Ukrainians are fighting over an extremely vast area with plenty more chances for people to escape the conflict and head west. Almost all Western European nations are also accepting Ukrainians.

The folk in Gaza are trapped, nowhere to go.

It's about a sickening as it gets.

No water, no food, no electricity, no medical supplies. No way in and no way out.

Homes, Hospitals, schools and places of shelter bombed

Folk told to head south to safety only to be further bombed

Tanks firing on civilians in cars on the road they were told to use to head to safety

Collective punishment for Gazans for the acts of a handful of men.

And the West continues to back Israel. With money, arms and political support.

You really should read up on Mauripol mate, there were no tears on here for them, but absolute atrocities happened there.

Residents claimed the death toll in the city was 100,000-120,000 – a figure significantly higher than the official toll of 21,000 given by Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s government. One person said 25% to 30% of their friends and acquaintances had perished.

The world just turned a blind eye, while Ukraine were protecting the West, all under the disguise of Independence. Exactly the same stories, no water, no food, no electricity, no medical supplies.

https://www.reuters.com/world/europ...riupol-survivors-tale-war-ukraine-2023-02-22/

By then, much of Mariupol lay in ruins, and tens of thousands of people had been killed in a city where more than half the pre-war population of some 450,000 have fled.

Good point. Western nations opened our arms and doors to Europeans being persecuted and we would do for Israelis and Palestinians fleeing the bombs and rockets.

A lot of noise from neighbouring countries but none of them actually care enough to open their borders for these poor people.

Good point.

I never considered what happened there. All I remember about this was people on here asking why it was a big deal when nobody cared about Palestine.

Would have been a different story if the Russians were Jewish.

****ing horrendous what happened there. A bit like Gaza, the residents had nowhere to escape to as the city was surrounded by Russian Forces.

Yup, absolutely shocking what happened there, and even though it was in the media, it was in the main ignored by your civi european observer of those media sources. And what I've shown is not the worst, there are many other articles out there with more extreme stories that I can't verify. But I've given two main media links and one slightly obscure one. Like you say, if the Russians had been Israeli's it would have been a totally different level of focus on here.

Said this when it all kicked off mate, they make a whole lot of noise but do nothing. They're flacid.

My colleague who is Turkish said when it all started that he just knew Erdogan would throw a big rally and make lots of noise about this **** as he is desperate for some credit at home, but he sincerely does not give a flying ****. Turks and Arabs have a frosty relationship at best.

Then you have the Saudi's who speak and speak, but have reacted by bombarding Houthi rebels who support Hamas. <laugh>

Egypt is willing to allow through bags of flour and potatoes across the border but will not allow a soul into their stretch of empty desert.

Israel has been attacked on all fronts by countries surrounding it and fought them all off. They’re even stronger now.

I doubt they give a ****e about Iran backing some militias <laugh>

Whoever goes up against Israel in that region will come out second best.

Merica could be tempted if Iran did get fully involved, unfinished business there for them

Problem then would be China and Russia going against America to test their strength and Americas resolve

All out war without nukes would be a world wide catastrophe, one push of a red button would then be the end of us humans

A ceasefire, two independent states and a Middle East Peace Treaty that ensures that no Arab State would attack Israel providing it recognises and repeats Palestine's right to exist

Simple really, just common sense..............IF ONLY

America is absolutely spoiling for a fight with Iran, I've got no doubt about that, hence why they've been jostling into position with their ships.

Sadly true

Remember they had some unfinished business with Iraq, at least without Blair and Brown we might not go charging in this time

Andy McDonald has been suspended as a Labour MP, after the party said he had made "deeply offensive" comments relating to the Israel-Gaza war.

The MP for Middlesbrough used the phrase "between the river and the sea" in a speech at a pro-Palestinian rally.

Paul Bristow: Ministerial aide sacked after call for Israel-Gaza ceasefire

So at least we know the UK govt stance on anybody who calls for peace.

Ok, good. Now the Labour Party have done the exact same thing, we can now discuss the actual reason the Tory MP was sacked.

If you sign up to be in the cabinet, or the shadow cabinet, you're signing up to agree with the policy of the government you are now officially apart of. You can't just join the cabinet, turn around and say "ye but thats a ****ing terrible decision lol" no government allows that **** in any country.

If he wanted to say **** about the war he could have just stood down and spoken his mind, he isn't being fired as an MP.

Labour Party likewise have a clear position on this. You can't then have Labour MPs ****ing off and saying whatever the **** they want against any party line, again, if they want to say whatever they want even if the majority of your peers find it offensive, you can resign the whip. You will remain an MP.
