Was at Birminghams Central Library before Christmas to pick up some books I'd reserved there.

The mrs was with me & looking at some **** she's interested in & I headed over to the political section to see if there was anything decent there. There was some IRA book which caught my attention, can't recall the name but read the back & seemed quite decent.

Opened it up to read a few lines & it seemed to be written ok, flicked through to find an interesting chapter to see how bias the book may be & noticed that certain words were highlighted by a yellow marker pen & there was a business card/calling card inside which was really sinister looking.

It had a logo which was of binoculars & a message saying "Found You! Call me when you get this"

I put it down to a prank & chucked it to the floor...........but later I thought - what if I'd stumbled on something? Imagine it was some secret service ****!!!

Anybody ever found such a card in a book at the library or elsewhere?
 
Duno but we used to do greeners in the books in they wee foldy out libraries ye get. Lookin back a duno how we never got cot, it was so obvious what we wer doin.
 
The highlighted words didn't make any sense when reading them in order, it could have been code. It wasn't like someone was doing coursework & highlighting phrases, quotes or anything it was just random words!!!

The card was quite amateur which is why I dismissed it as sombody having a laugh....but maybe that was the plan in case an inncoent like me picked it up?
 
So next to the 'Political Section' must be the 'Murdering Terrorist Scum Section', easy to get them mixed up I suppose<ok>

(Only those with young kids who watch the Disney Channel will have the slightest idea of what I'm on about). <whistle>

aye i've been in Birmingham library a few times and can confirm the British Army Section is beside the Political Section right enough <ok>

Brum - you've said to much - shut the **** up or the "boys" will be paying you a visit later
 
<laugh> LR - I have a photo of me looking like that from my aunties fancy dress party <ok>

My brother was dressed as a muslim with home made dynamite sticks strapped to him made from loo rolls <laugh>
 
But my brother had big red dynamite strapped with masking tape to his stomach <laugh>

A great touch i thought.

Have the photos at home, not sure I have a scanner anymore but wanted to get them up on facebook.
 
i went out and bought some bricks of play doh, couple of pens stuck in (detonators) and some wire <ok>

job done. mrs.lr thought this was racist <doh> yet when i went in striped pajamas with a star of david on the pocket and a number on my arm she didnt bat an eyelid

she'll never admit it but she's a jew hating liberal

I already had a balaclava, sunglasses & stonewash jeans - got a camaflage jacket for £10 from the market, DM boots for £5 from charity shop & a beret for £2 from a ****ty shop.

Stuck on a rebel tshirt I've had for ages & a few badges for effect & thought I was odds on for winning, despite not taking a plastic gun with me!!!

Then my auntie turns up as Vicky Pollard <laugh>
