Yeah that’s fair enough, I wouldn’t say racism was anywhere near as bad in football now compared to the 80’s. I haven’t heard any for a long time now, last time was when we played leeds and some of our fans were racially abusing diouf even though we had players like Faye at the time, they’re complete idiots though. I can only speak for myself I suppose and there’s nothing racist at all in my dislike of our football and our terrible win ratio in home games. I pay money to be entertained after a **** week of work not be bored stiff in most game and see us draw yet another. Slightly off tangent but for me that’s all I have against rosenior, couldn’t care less whether he was black, white, green or purple.
People need to learn the difference between criticism and abuse. If people can't handle any sort of criticism of Rosenior whatsoever and label it abuse, going as far as to baselessly accuse supporters who criticise him of racism, then I don't know why they came onto a thread discussing his tenure and the pros and cons of it. If your argument against people making fair criticisms of Rosenior's tenure of almost 12 months is 'you hate him because he's black' then you seriously need to stop drinking.
I actually can't believe that you're suggesting that the people who are not enjoying the style of play at home are just massive racists.
Jeez, you are posting some absolute crap MO, it's uncalled for and out of order imo. I can only assume you were drinking last night? As an aside, I don't even think of Rosenior as black. Out of order from you even bringing it up. As for women (let's leave it with that term rather than your ridiculous immature description), if you were listening to that 'commentator' on Sky last night, you would probably have felt compelled to comment. She was absolutely attrocious. I don't care who commentates (within reason) so long as they are there on merit, not simply to tick boxes or whatever. Infact, I'd actually quite like watching Alex Scott commentating on our games (there you go, all your ridiculous accusations shattered in one go). Maybe time for some apologies now you've sobered up. ps great post Benjo.
Much as Kalman has no time for me he talks a lot more sense on football matters than MO, SYD and some others.
I can understand (just about) those who want Rosenior out because they don’t like the way he has us playing football. I would point out that this isn’t the finished version of what he wants and we have seen evidence in the Southampton and Birmingham games that things are changing in terms of playing more balls forward at a higher tempo. Interestingly Birmingham fans were saying that Rooney wants to play like us but it will take time on the training ground to implement this. We want to play more like Ipswich but McKenna had had more time on…you get the picture. Compare the Cardiff 3-2 performance and the win last night and you can see the massive progression. I’d hope that in another 12 games time that those that want him gone now will be slowly coming round to our way of playing. A home win will help.
It can also be true that white players get unjustified abuse and non white players get justified abuse. As said by and large football is a meritocracy, do well get praised do bad get abuse/criticism.
If we keep playing like we did last night, and mirror that sort of football at home then I won't take long at all to be convinced he's the right man. Last night was exactly the sort of football I love watching. Fast, attacking, free flowing football. Long may it continue.
This... I can feel the supposed racism dissipating out of me because I don't like it when our CBs spend half the game passing it back and forth to each other.
I’m thinking of putting my KKK outfit away when we stop playing it back to Allsop from our corners and throw ins right in front of the other teams box.
Ultimately that’s why we watch football, to be entertained and have an escape from work, see friends and what not. No one wants to go and be bored out there mind wishing they were doing something else.
They really didn't at all. It was shifted across once and then wide or forwards in most cases. You must see the difference in the past two games surely? We're far more brave playing out from the back than previously - where the ball would casually go from LB, right across one by one to RB, then all the way back again, sometimes to GK etc, always in front of our goal... It just went up the pitch so slowly. NOW we're only playing sideways when we're camped in their half, looking for a way through. The difference being we're going all the way back to GK from those positions a lot less.
