The point in celebrating is because we just won a big 3 points to get us back on track. The fact you think there's no point speaks volumes about your priorities and demonstrates perfectly how polarised it's become on this forum, which this thread seemed to be a break from. But, OK... Don't celebrate it then... Feel free to carry on as you are.You genuinely believe people on here want to see us lose don't you? I'm going to go to sleep now. I'll wake up happy about the result in the morning while you're evidently going to somehow make yourself feel bitter after a good win - I guess because you can't tolerate that some people think differently to you? My advice, leave them to it. Your posts tonight have basically just been wild, finger pointing assumptions about other posters. As for the thread not turning farcical, I think you might have seen to that with some of tonight's posts.
Unlike you I didn't doubt tonight's performance. I backed us 3-0 based on Southampton and Millwall performances, not results. Nor did I feel we were off track. Rosenior has a top 10 expectation and given our first dozen fixtures I didn't feel we were particularly off that before today either. Is still expect a finish around 8/10th and I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise - or lead me to increase the level of that expectation so far either. Only problem is certain warriors who predicted doom and gloom somehow now expecting top 6 minimum all of a sudden. Well who raised that expectation? At least I've been consistent. Either there are agendas at play on this board or some people are stuck in the 70s. Seems like it's both to me. Frankly. And I'm absolutely delighted with the result. The silence from negative ****s til next time we lose (or draw) is music to my ****ing ears. But when the greatest criticism now seems to be that he talks a good game and is good in the media ( cos playing out has proved not to lead to loads conceded as prophesied by the same old.. ) then there's definitely something awry here. And responses to my last post suggest I ain't the only one who's thought to ask the question either.
To be honest I didn't notice a huge difference in that performance to, say, Millwall as our last away performance, or Southampton at home. I don't know how to look up stats on 'tempo' of passing (as it should be available given some of the charts we've seen), but we didn't look any more direct or 'handbrake off' than in other games. Birmingham were poor, and handed us our first goal, and we scored a worldie as the second. It sort of goes to my point that a lot of criticism or praise seems very outcome-based. Could have been 0-0 this morning if they don't pass it back to us and Jaden doesn't try his luck, and then people are moaning about not creating enough chances (ignoring Twine's open goal miss which is somehow LR's fault) and stuffing around at the back. I'm actually a bit surprised you're so positive on the display as I was pretty disappointed with how open we looked at times.
I’ve not had time to read the thread this week - just a really quick skim. But once again, I can see the extreme views. When we lose, it’s the system’s fault. When we win, it’s the system that got us the points. I feel like I keep saying this, but…the system can only truly be judged at the end of the season (as it will take time). If we haven’t met the expectation, then it has failed. Similarly, if we make the playoffs (or give it a good challenge), then it is good progress. Winning away last night was fantastic. It doesn’t mean the system works. But questioning Rosenior every time we don’t get the result is very negative and really not helpful. Maybe say it once (if you feel strongly), but not after every game. We should all be happy. We have a great chairman, exciting players, backroom staff that mean something to the club, fans back and no VAR in this league (couldn’t resist). UTT.
Grant McCann got the most abuse a City manager’s ever received in recent years, even when we won League One. Must’ve been cause he was black. Someone’s been on the sauce again.
Like all the black players that play for us who get the most criticism off fans like Slater and Twine
Slater doesn’t get any abuse does he? And Twine only gets it, deservedly, after last night. The ****.
Is this what Tan meant by being braver? It was end to end stuff, Brum with some kamikaze defending, us struggling with their directness, their winger had Greaves in his back pocket all night. To quote LR, "on another day" that's a game that finishes 4-3.
Not so much now but people definitely said he was **** and shouldn’t be playing for us in the past. yeah I can’t stand twines diving, it’s pathetic
I think it can both be true that white players and managers get justified abuse and non white players and managers can get unjustified abuse. Not that that's necessarily happening here but it's a weird deflection.
What’s weird is MO suggesting that people that aren’t happy with the football Rosenior has us playing or the home form is all to do with him being black when that’s quite clearly not the issue. If it was, all our black players would be scrutinised the same as Rosenior is which isn’t the case at all.
That’s a good summary. Brum were awful but I think we made them look even worse. The back pass for the first goal wasn’t utterly **** but Delap made it look that way by anticipating it and intercepting it. He’s already five yards towards their keeper on the player’s blind side when the ball leaves the defender’s foot.
5 points between 3rd and 14th. I can see the 4 play off places being decided on the final day again. Can Ipswich keep their run up?
Why has LR had such scrutiny?Because we have a lot of clueless fans? You seem to think that because someone is a female they can automatically do a job better. Which is stupid. And what does the age and weight of a commentator have to do with someone’s ability to talk about a subject?Again that is stupid. Your anti white stance and your issues with age, gender and size make you appear to be a racist, misandrist fatist.
Who, apart from fruitloops, thinks Rosenior’s skin colour has anything to do with it. Football is a meritocracy and all about results.
Hmm. Not sure one follows the other or vice versa. I think MO and many of us are perplexed why LR is being given a hard time by some. Bizarrely it started in pre-season before a ball had been kicked in anger. It may not be at play here, but it has been at various points in the past amongst the fanbase (openly racist gestures and chants etc in the 80s and more recently some fans telling the (rightly-hated) Allams to ‘get back where they came from’ etc).
