I can't / won't watch these. On the one hand the vacuous soundbites are embarrassing and, on the other hand, just so sad to see a former favourite drowning in his own meaningless rhetoric. Needs to go so I can get back to remembering the passionate and moderately skillful player he was.
GA will always be a club legend, but will also be known as a clueless manager..should never been appointed,a case of heart ruling head
Good post.... unfortunately! I can only think that the board/owners, whoever they ****ing are, actually want relegation. There's no other possible explanation for their lack of interest in witnessing the most clueless manager in QPR's history taking us down, playing the worst type of football I've ever watched. I will never go to another game whilst he's in charge. My son even left the room at half time, refusing to watch anymore.
I actually think he does believe what he's saying. I don't believe he has the self awareness to realise that he is useless and rather dim. He thinks he's good at what he does.
GA is grovelling and scrambling around looking for a point by any means and has truly forgotten his team and his fans in this desperation disguised in his spin. We, as fans, don’t like it (as football or for our club). I’m sure the players don’t believe, or want, to park the bus for 85 minutes and show their skills as a lottery. The basics of this game is still meant to be about entertainment and enjoyment - we have zero. He has to leave quickly now. **** FFP. **** this crap. Just make the decision. And FFS get the next one right. Please!!!!
We may have already reached the point of no return, which leads me to wonder whether the board want us in league 1.
It’s a shame this clown show of the last seven months will completely overshadow what a good player he was for us at a difficult time. That volley at Rushden was probably the best goal I’ve seen for us live since the Sinclair goal.
100% Beth. I sat and watched last night, and thought to myself that many of these players have, in the past, been part of a QPR side that played some really good football, so they can do it! In this current set up they seem clueless, and, most worryingly for me, they look like they aren't enjoying their football...hence the loss of composure and lots of yellow and red cards. They don't seem concerned about missing games, as they aren't enjoying playing! I'd fall into that bracket. My income has been hit post covid, not too badly, but enough to make me not want to spend £10 watching a game I won't enjoy because the standard of football is so poor.
Until the red card "It was working"...really? No shots on target and lump it forward to a lone striker. "I'll back the lads"...great, and obviously that is the job of the manager, but are they backing the manager now? "Can we get behind the boys...we all need to get behind these boys." - Maybe overly picky, but they aren't boys, they are grown men. It annoys me that he refers to 'the boys' all the time, as if they are a group of children who need looking after...they are grown men who need clear instruction and management so they can do their jobs.
And yet again he leads into the Leicester match on saturday with that old chestnut "They're a premier league side". FECKS SAKE MAN!!!! They are a championship side, this aint the cup
He is giving these men clear instruction … to do things they don’t want to do/be. Defeatist, defensive, no hope football, losing any belief they have.
We used to have the cliche that every match is a cup final. Now every match is a second round league cup tie away at Burnley or Stoke.
I must be mad staying up to 4 am to watch us. GA is managing to make us even worse than we were before he came. Or is it Dobson who makes the plan and decides the in-game changes? It looks rather like he does from the stream. They should never have been appointed and need to go, but as they are still here it looks to me like we can't afford to sack and replace them due to our FFP situation. A potential FFP penalty will likely be like Reading got or worse with our previous. Perhaps they are trying to find a cheapish solution like putting GA on gardening leave for the rest of the season and replacing him internally, but doubt we have anyone in-house who can keep us in the Championship now. Relegation this season will be especially terrible because much more money is coming to the Championship from the TV deal from next season.
This sort of utter disgrace served up last night reminds me of the bonus games ****e spouted by kneecap all those years ago about away games, we didn't look like winning then and we don't look like winning now...... I thought those days were long gone.....
I watched the game on QPR+ last night. Words fail me. No, I have one: awful. Mark Warburton memorably (and accurately) said "we are in the entertainment business". On that basis, I don't think I can bear to use my season ticket to watch our defeat to Leicester on Saturday, it would be both painful and embarrassing. Most of these players were part of our successful team of a year or so back. Our first choice team is not relegation material, although the deeper squad is a little thin. Any sane person would therefore conclude that it's the manager. Are our board mad? Please, put him out of his (and our) misery.
Ah yeah that was a nice few minutes until Maloney got the equaliser. Zamora at West Brom I was there for too. Nygaard at Leicester. Obviously various Taarabt goals though I’ll die on the hill of his Swansea goal being a goalie error.
