That's how we should approach every game in my opinion. Build a style a philosophy of attacking football and if we lose so be it. Telling a team to get everyone behind the ball and defend defend defend is already half way to losing before you've even got on the pitch.

And in all honesty, it pi**es from a great height onto the fans who've paid money to watch the team.

Surely there’s no better way to tell your team you don’t believe they can win than setting them up as GA did on Tues night.

This against a team that had numerous injuries; just struggled at home to Plymouth and were potentially there for the taking if you got them scared from the off.
Not straightforward but possible. We had no chance.

For such a positive guy he sure does employ negative tactics.

He was shouting “I don’t want to play on Saturday”
Some talk on Twitter he was booked for scuffing the penalty spot, didn't see that myself, it is weird he wasn't the only one protesting the most blatant pen known to man.
Also he clearly says the lino told him he could go on, Dunne is a dunderhead but the ref is also a twat.

I'd prefer we gave it a ****ing go and loose 5 0 than sit back and loose 4 0

I reckon you might be yeah.
We gave, or should I say Ainsworth gave way too much respect to WBA in the way he set up and instructed the team to play. To the point it was unnecessary having our 2 attacking players on the pitch. Medieval, neanderthal tactics. There's not a single other team in this league that will set up like that against this sort of opposition. Every game has been about stopping the opponent and trying not to lose, it hasn't worked so he went to an extreme on Tuesday and it still didn't work. It was defence v attack. So as to your original question, the performance, in my opinion was the worst I've ever actually seen from our team in recent history, nevermind just under Ainsworth. It was dull, negative, uninspiring, tedious and very very boring but above all else it was a total lack of creativity from a footballing perspective.

This was the third ever away game I’ve attended. Stamford Bridge when we were hockeyed 6-1 I think. The other was Old Trafford when we were beaten 1-0 I think in the League Cup. Not since that Old Trafford game have I seen such a lack of ambition from a QPR team. I thought it was inexcusable against United but against West Brom FFS, shameful.

Wasn't it Ainsworth who was temporarily in charge that night at Old Trafford?

Edit ... And wasn't it a Tevez penalty that they won by?

I think that’s right. My memory may be playing tricks on me but thought we did quite well and they didn’t have loads of chances. The round before at Villa was superb.

Yeah, my son and I were there as corporate guests of American Express. My son had his photo taken afterwards with the Premiership and Champions League trophies. We met Alex Stepney later and I told him I remembered him playing for Millwall when we put six past him! He took it well.

Would you really want to watch that type of football week in week out because I’m sure I don’t, there was absolutely nothing going forward & GA said we must get wins but not a chance playing like that, come this Saturday we might as well go for it with more attacking as we got nothing to lose

I think you both may have slightly misinterpreted what I was saying :cheesy:

I was trying to make the point that we weren't an absolute shower of **** this time. We actually seemed, at least defensively, more competent, until Dunne's moment of idiocy.

There was a plan but then there was a plan when the troops were sent over the top.

Looked an absolute shower of **** to me.

Didn’t remember that about Ainsworth. Wow, what a coincidence. We showed zero ambition that night. The plan was to try and hold out for 0-0 and win on penalties.

Meant to add that rarely have I seen such an ineffectual performance as Dozzell’s the last night. He is so lightweight and floated around the place contributing nothing.
