Now they've jumped into the ongoing issues in the middle east, and given the bill for the war they're propping up in Ukraine comes to nearly $230m per day at their expense, the US are far worse off financially, and their continued appeasement of the likes of BLM by defunding the Police, means they have increasingly lawless towns and cities and it actually makes me feel better !
I don’t normally get involved in these tit for tat politics post. I think we should all let people vote for who they want to and not try and influence people on a football forum. What I have noticed is you’ve mentioned the people coming across the sea and saying they are all wrong uns and should be sent back or would you prefer shot? But have you ever thought on an anonymous board that you may well be talking to some of these people on here? Also all those things above you dislike, who has been in power for the past 13 years to allow this to happen?
1) As I've said on many many posts, the Tories only have themselves to blame for a lot of what's happened over the last 13 years. But before they came to power, successive Labour governments were to blame for a lot of the current issues. 2) I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do or who to vote for. It's my own personal opinions. 3) I've never said they're all wrong un's, or suggested they should be shot. What I do say is that if they are illegal, then they have no right to be here and that we owe them nothing. Again, that's just my personal opinion.
To be fair ROD this thread is labelled ‘off topic’ - politics, music and most other topics are ok with that label Despite all the differences of political opinion on here I don’t think any of us want any migrant shot.
The shooting bit was tongue in cheek. I don’t mind the political debates, just think we’ve been here before. Also I’m voting Green Party, not that I like them just I like the colour green.
And you don’t like the colour red?, strange for a City fan, maybe you should support FGR they are green.
Follow the family mate. Grandfather told me I had to support City. My dad worked for Pioneer who had green and white mixers so I liked green. I used to like it when we all had individual colours now all mixers and tippers are white (apart from independents)
The country has gone to the dogs and I shan’t be voting for either of the main parties Both are truly awful It might be a wasted vote but it’s the only way to make the point We need strong leadership
The Torie are saying they are fiscally responsible. So after being asked how labours priorities them economic ones will be different to the Tories you cant explain how so you didn't know? If you looked at Starmer pledges the ones he did have which were different to Tories you can see hes rolled back to a position very close to the Tories. If you read Labour lists where labours plans are being revealed the five point plan after the recent conference you can see labour being very close to the Tories on what Labour calls fiscal stability. Starmers been criticised for being right wing and economically he is. Plans to magic up investment from increasing gdp past other past are magic make believe the UK doesnt get that growth let alone from having no plan to anything different to the last twenty years economically to magic up that what would have to be record economic growth!!!!.
I find it fascinating that some people on here seem to be saying that although they acknowledge the current lot are ****, they are too scared of voting Labour for a 5 year stint in case things get worse - a sort of ‘better the devil you know’ ethos - yet many of those same people thought nothing of voting us out of Europe - a lifetime change with no ability to reverse it after 5 years if it turned out bad, when Brexit was a complete unknown and any perceived ‘benefits’ were hypothetical theories and aspirations without any foundation whatsoever and have yet to take on any form. The desire for change seemed so great in that case that shafting the economy and sending us fiscally back to the 1980s was deemed a risk worth taking…… Theres nowt as funny as folk…….
I reckon a lot of people simply won't vote at the next GE. They've lost faith in the Tories but Starmer and co have no appeal to them and people will feel things could get a lot worse under Labour
He just needs to get his act together over what's happening in the Middle East now and who he's going to back
I think you’re right - Starmer isn’t lefty enough for the staunch Labour hardliners and Sunak doesn’t really appeal to hard-line Tories.
Spot on They are both members of the metropolitan elite, and neither has any affinity with normal people
They are being ultra cautious so as not to scare people off. Remember in order to win an election they have to appeal to disaffected tories, they are trying to move into the middle ground. It’s working as the tories themselves are increasingly moving more to the right. IT’s tactical politics.
No vote is ever wasted Angelic, it just determines the outcome! I watched PMQ's today, and it was quite refreshing to see how attitudes are panning out and how various factions conduct themselves. KS is far from perfect and his tags of "hindsight" / Mr Uturn / etc really do raise their heads to regularly. Will need to watch it again as one Comment by RS had my attention .. need the correct wording to repeat it! it is at about the end of the exchange "getting on with the longterm.......! and that is the key. dont knee jerk it plan it abnd get on with it. I have/was never / favourable to RS! But you tweaked a thought with your comment ....."We need strong leadership[/QUOTE]" Actually, if strong leadership was the only criteria to place a vote then maybe the answer would not be that hard!
"They are being ultra cautious so as not to scare people off" .... translated into laymans terms = they aint got a clue what to do!
Starmers quotes from his imaginary followers are quite cringe worthy......it is worrying that he could become our prime minister......not a bloody clue!!
