Ndombele has a stinking attitude and doesn’t work hard enough but talent wise he’s absolute levels above Lo Celso who has a better attitude than Ndombele and works harder but still offers very little (I’m saying that after years of seeing him at Spurs) I don’t hold much hope of many ins in January. Spurs are usually reluctant to make many changes when things are going well and usually only spend big when they sell big or they need to buy their way out of trouble. I still think top 6 would be a very good season for the club.
I'm not saying he "just" needs to be coached, I'm saying you need bodies and there's a player there that has played well in La Liga and The CL on many occasions so maybe it's best to try and get the best out of him with your new system and managers ethos. Or do you go buy and will the manager be backed? You've been here before.
Top of the league after 9 games isn’t even worth mentioning. Let’s see how the table looks in March/April before we say who’s in the title race etc. Spurs finished 8th last season and lost Kane in the summer window and appointed an unproven manager who has never coached in a decent league. Top 6 would be a good season all things considered.
We're 4th and going to ****ing smash the league and win the the Europe thing we're in as well. Everyone else is **** and not worthy of cleaning our boots.
Bossing a game here and there for Villarreal means jack when it comes to English football though. Many players have done well abroad then flopped in England. We’ve technically already spent to replace him as Bentancur, Maddison, Bissouma Sarr and Hojbjerg were all bought after Lo Celso and are all ahead of him, as is Skipp who came from the academy, he’s older than all of those apart from Hojbjerg too. The problem we have is we just can’t shift the guy, no one’s wanted to buy him. Ange wanted to sign Gallagher in the summer but that was never happening as us and Chelsea never do business with each other. Though if we had got him, Lo Celso would be playing in the U21s until Jan, lol.
Yeah I get some of your points but think he's better and suits your system better than some of those you mentioned. Difference of opinion is always interesting in football.
For me personally the only toss up would be Skipp as to who he could be better than. Maddison, Bentancur and Bissouma are light years above his level. Sarr is far better. Hojbjerg way more reliable and consistent. I’d happily back the club if they cancelled Lo Celso’s contract, honestly mate he’s one of the worst players I’ve had the misfortune of watching. He was so bad at one point that compilations of his **** ups were doing the round on social media. Not even joking when I say I’d have Winks back over him.
Academy kid, Kasey McAteer is still our top scorer this season despite missing the last 3 games with a hammy ... just about to start full training again ... but Dewsbury-Hall (another who came through the academy) is the one tearing it up this season, having grasped the opportunity to take over from Maddison with both hands ... Got a largely young squad with a few older heads - getting better game by game - kid who got our second goal against the Swans (Abdul Fatawu) is only 19 - season long loan from Sporting with an option to buy - looking like great business, he's been electric ... 12 league games, 11 wins - 6 away ... fans buzzing coz we are playing really attractive, pacey footie ...
Gonna say it ... been pleasantly surprised by Harry Winks - been excellent for us - been the fulcrum that has linked us playing out from the back and supplying our exciting forwards ... neat, tidy and a fine passer of the ball ...
Think Spurs have been lucky in one or two games, but overall look a solid team. Top 4 would be minimum I'd think
I’ve said for years that Championship is his level, genuinely happy for him he’s doing well. I think you’ll find if/ when you come back up that he’ll look too good in the Championship but out of his depth in the Prem as he won’t have the time and space he needs, he’ll then likely revert to the sideways/ backwards stuff he done for us.
They've played Liverpool and Arsenal, out of 9 games. Great start, You can only beat who's in front of you, very surprised by how well they've done and how consistent they are so far and no games easy in the PL, but they've had a hell of a favourable fixture list. Let's see where we're at by December time.
