I agree about the fine line Angelic.
However, I refer back to my earlier comment about us being the 5th or 6th biggest economy on the planet.
We should be able to have infrastructure worthy of the top 6.
The fact we haven’t must be down to mismanagement

Top 6 money available but not achieved a top 6 place?
Surely that’s poor management and deserves a sacking….?

The point about the trainers is to do with now...............
in times of adversity everyone should do their bit. Yourself likely works XYL works you have a house you pay your bills pay your tax and anything left over you either put away for a rainy day, or toward something you need ... basically you do not scrounge off of others to get by ... you go out and do it for yourself!

    instance......
there are loads of footwear out there that is as good/ stylish / and quality better than some highly inflated products like made in the same factory as other "brands costing far less". In 1976 I bought a pair of walking boots, they cost me just under £25. [ were on the shelf, tried 5 or 6 pairs of same size same brand to ensure they were perfect probably finished up with left foot from pair 2 and right foot from pair 6! ] On arrival back to UK went into a sportswear shop / equipment shop in Dover, couldnt believe my eyes on the shelf identical boots / box labels brand etc but being sold as " title,? back then a bit like nike type now] .. cant remember what it was " but amazingly the price was £80 ... reduced from £90"

A month's worth of foodbank shopping and I could like buy myself some top priced Nike footwear and a few branded tops at £30+ .................

When you are not besotted then you allow yourself to actually look at the real facts surrounding something ... and can differentiate between what is any, if any, differences there might be ! At present to be totally realistic there is very Little KS or his party can do ... WITH MAJOR PROJECTS for the future because they are covered [ for some they want them yesterday, not futuristiically at a pace that will disrupt the fiscal balance ]. Only thing left is to big up small things like "dom" AND SPREAD IT ON EXISTING PLANS ?

Its what labour have said so i will ask how do you believe labour will be economically different to the tories??? Keir Starmer says Labour will fund our public services through growing the economy so this means that if the growth isn't achieved, there will be no extra money for public services. so how are labour going to grow the economy? whats the difference between the reds and blues here??

Labour have said they want fiscal stability and they are not going to do anything radically different. Theres a same sameness to it economically.

Can you explain the tax on private schools thing? Whats the point of hammering QEH Bristol Grammar etc?

As posted regarding how little they can do to improve what is already there.
Last election they played the same game!!! every time someone had a grievance regarding costs they said "we will sort that" etc etc etc
They need to scrape as much money together to mean they borrow less .. BUT also they could lose a few votes as some people will not like to pay additional tax! However it could mean a net gain on votes for they lose a few parents votes but maybe gain a few from the people who are jealous of those that make enough money to send their kids to such schools!

being quite good with figures etc it is quite a sobering read if I was a Labourite ... a rather mundane read if I was a toryite and whilst not mentioned in the article a rather false floor read if I was a LD' ite.

the thing to look at and say "does it mean anything?" .............. is total votes cast! :emoticon-0112-wonde

a few throwaways in here! vowed to protect BOE & OBR ... WELL CONSIDERING it is a thing the Tories are very strong on does it mean whispers in Labour were / are to get rid?
Covid ... I travel quite a bit and have a social circle bigger than a lot of people! [ due to my hobbies & pursuits ] NONE are really interested in covid inquiries/ hit squads/ police being involved in investigating total waste of money 6 officers on x days pay getting someone to cough up a few £'s in a fine ... really! uuuuuuuuuuuuummmm hang on first item crack down on waste!!!! . uuum that also brings in £'s million to inquire about HS2. BEEN CANCELLED [inflationary catastrophe ] to save money which can be put to use in northern area to improve things ... so lets waste a few £m of what we thought we could save with item 1 and give them less [ bear in mind after the dust settLed over the DOM QUOTE THEY MORE THAN HALVED THE AMOUNT IT MIGHT BE/COULD BE! ...............

and that leaves Planes maybe half a dozen... even a round dozen per annum ... not gas guzzlers like 747's mind you but smaller more economical one's. leave London go to newcastle less than 2 hours flying round trip! Drive by car well minimum of 3 plus maybe 8 persons [ body guards ] plus en route all police forces needing to be aware and show a presence 1 maybe 2 cars 4 plus officers.. journey time about 11 hours + if lucky. oh about 4 hours by train but on a timetable!!!!

    really makes sense :emoticon-0138-think

. Wow labour will protect the office of the office for Budget Responsibility thats technocrats and big business the people who have put this country in a mess and meaning labours budgets will be signed off by non democratically elected body who will look to the interestes of themselves. Theres money spunked on green energy borrowed money not money spent on social care or the nhs!!!! You were asked and you cant explain the differences and all you can do is stick a link up that highlights very little differences between red and blue. You really should have said i dont know.

They are saying they will be fiscally responsible, the ex governor of the Bank of England who , when he was in post the interests rates were kept below 2%, whilst mortgage rates were pretty much 0% endorses Labour, Says Rachael Reaves knows what she’s doing. They also set up some objectives as well. Obviously they can’t
Set out their manifesto yet, nor can they say their detailed fiscal policies, even a government won’t do that in detail before a budget. If they did they’d be, rightly, criticised. What we do know is this present lot have made a complete mess of things, everything you can name is worse than when they took over 13 years ago.

In all fairness, the rest of the world aren’t exactly thriving and they’ve had to sort out, first, the financial mess left 13 years ago, then Brexit, then Pandemic, then Ukraine and the energy crisis.. to name just a few..
They haven’t help themselves, that we all agree on and are likely to lose the GE, which will be down to their mistakes not because what Labour has to offer.. whom themselves are a complete shower..

the real point here is we all know that ... the negative ones dwell upon it and endeavour to glorify from it ...However, the positive ones understand it, why it is, and address the problem, in a way that does not exasperate the problem. They lay out a plan to encompass the whole problem ... the reason why we borrowed money [ after having repaid the massive debt labour left and got us back in the black ] COVID! followed by Russia invading Ukraine and pumping up fuel prices etc.

there is currently a down trend on inflation, interest rate rises have slowed, the perfect storm of 2020/2022 is now receding [ bit like what is happening with storm Babet, and any storm really, reach's an unwanted peak then recovery starts! ]

Brexit was what they were elected on, apparently it was oven ready. We were a basket case before the pandemic, just gave them something to hide their incompetence on, blame it on.

We are indeed supposedly the 6th or 7th largest economy in the developed world, (according to the 'experts' !) but years of waste under both Labour and Conservative rule, plus possibly Brexit, followed by Covid, wrong decisions being made at critical times, and not forgetting all this lefty woke nonsense that's seeped into our western life and hamstrung so much from top to bottom is all to blame as a combination in my humble opinion.

We waste so much money on lazy people who don't want to work, an ageing population that becomes more expensive by the day, and the cost of illegal immigration I'm surprised taxes don't need to go up even more.

We have had a population explosion over the last 22 years, and these are not Brits. They're aliens.
They don't integrate or assimilate, they stay in their silo's often with very different views to us, yet we're the ones who have to pander their their demands.

As a result of us being lax with allowing these uninvited foreigners in by the boat load, we now don't have enough services, housing, schools, and infrastructure to cope with an extra near 10 million people since 2000.

Ten million extra people means the population has increased nearly 20%.

Think about just how much that has affected our country.

No wonder nothing works and the roads are at gridlock (and in poor repair, yes)

Law & Order has become a joke. If your car is stolen or your house is burgled, don't expect the Police to show up, because they won't. But mis-gender someone, and they'll turn up mob handed to haul you away.

When we wanted strong leadership and vision for the country from Brown onwards, Cameron, May, and Johnson we got the exact opposite. As for Blair, it started well and ended in humiliation with stupid things like everyone going to Uni, and open borders, plus dragging us into a war that we had no right or need to join. Now look at the state of things.

A reason for Brexit not yet realising its potential was largely down to Teresa May, a re-moaner who didn't get us as good a deal as we could have had and had to be replaced.

Johnson was weak with virtually everything, including Covid lockdowns that have killed our economy and was p1ss poor on legal and illegal immigration too. Starmer didn't even mention it in his speech last week, so we know by default he'll do nothing different. Starmer campaigned hard for a second referendum to overturn the original decision !

No one has had the will or foresight to admit that the NHS needs huge reform to improve patient care and save the taxpayer money and give value for money.

We continue to hurtle towards Net Zero, which for me is a suicide mission.
As far as I'm aware no one has done any costs analysis on how much it's going to cost the UK, but it's likely to be trillions of pounds, and guess who will pay for it ? Yeah, the good old tax payer. And has anyone considered what the come back or answer will be if the world achieves Net Zero at some point and global temperatures don't fall and the weather, because we are a cyclical planet, doesn't revert to what it was before all this nonsense ?
I find it incredible that some Tesla charging stations are powered by diesel generators <laugh>
Fossil fuels have helped to give us light, food, transport and warm homes. Why on earth are we pursuing this crazy line when there are biofuels from plants that could replace oil if we are determ ined to wean ourselves off of what has powered the world for a few centuries.

This country has fallen so far, that tens of thousand of anti Semitic, pro Palestine, possibly pro terrorism protesters, are now allowed to chant for jihad against Israel (for now) on the streets of Britain, and the Police stand by and watch them and make just 10 arrests.
These same sort of people ran out into the streets of New York to celebrate on 9/11 as the planes hit the World Trade Centre. They got away with it too.

The fact that nothing is done to prosecute these anti western and anti Israel supporters of hate will come back and bite innocent Brits in the months and years to come.

As a country we're pathetic, and the anti west haters know they're on a winner as we lack the balls to let them know who is in charge.

Pretty much summed up that Angelic..It’s so bad, the conspiracy theorist in me wonders how much is setup by the hierarchy of this world.. The global super powers/corporates such as China, Russia and possibly the States etc must be watching our demise with joy..
