That's football. Close games can often go either way, the point is we've been out played over the 90 only once this season despite a very tough opening dozen games and maybe only 2 or 3 times in the 40 games Rosenior has been in charge. Still doesn't mean you reach for the axe though, especially when we're so very close to being a very good side at this level.

I commented earlier that we seemed to have a tough first quarter of the season. On current league standings, by November 4th we will have played 15 games and will have played 9 of the top 10 teams. I suspect no other teams have had a more difficult start. Being within 2 points of the playoffs is actually a very good achievement. Let’s judge how we are doing at the turn of the year.
As someone pointed out yesterday, we have a little run just before Christmas where we play a lot of the stragglers or teams in the bottom half. See how we do from those. Mind you knowing our luck they'll suddenly hit form by then!
Parkinson comparison is an interesting one. Can see some parallels, although he had at least served an apprenticeship of 3 seasons with Colchester, including an over achieving promotion season. Rosenior's experience doesn't even come close to that! Hope it turns out far better but not at all convinced it will, and not even seeing why anyone should logically expect it will. All ended well for us when Parkinson was sacked! Replaced by a manager who had several years learning under Todd and Allardyce, plus the scars / experience of his season in charge at Derby (!). Rosenior simply hasn't got all of that under his belt, nor a Nobby in his corner, and I think it shows. It's such a big ask and I fear Acun has been naive again (hate criticising him)
Rosenior has had the playing career at a different level to Parky. Also started his coaching apprenticeship as a player, took youth teams at Brighton and was a significant part of a remarkable managerial rearguard at Derby that season they got more points than us with a team of kids and geriatrics but went down and finished below us only on a points deduction. He's probably had as much or more coaching experience than Parkinson had at the time of his appointment here. Parkinson had 3 stable years at an obscure club then couldn't replicate it in the spotlight. Rosenior has had to deal with circumstances way beyond that and has always been in the spotlight.
You mean owner, pundit, failed manager and formerly imperious England and Man U midfielder? Didn't realise he was still in the game barring his investments. What's he up to currently? *or maybe I should have prefaced the question in terms of the modern day - ie Last decade. But Scholesy loved it in his heyday, just as they all do. Otherwise why get out of bed?
Wasn't the criticism of Alsopp via Cardiff that he couldn't save ****e? He saves his fair share. But so does Ingram and that's what keepers are for. Alsopp is probably as good as Darlow in terms of distribution.
I'd say son at spurs is someone who's not interested in the limelight. I suppose the real question is can top top players actually live a life without being in the limelight these days with cameras everywhere, social media demanding constant posts and updates, paps following players everywhere etc....whether they want to be in the limelight or not?
It's something a manager employed by an international media company to coach their football club is going to have to be comfortable with. There's times he hasn't helped himself in his pressers, but he's not as grating as a Pearson, Adkins, McCann or Shota ( who could work that **** out?) in the press for me.
You seriously underestimate the players Derby still had at their disposal, interestingly a blend of seasoned wise heads (&leaders) and youth. The points deduction did for them, not the players that they had. The more interesting Rosenior comparison was against what followed Parky. It's indisputable that Rosenior is serving his senior men's football management 'apprenticeship' with us ... and without the benefit of a seasoned right hand man (a Nobby type), because he thinks he's Mourinho and doesn't need it. <Ok, I'm exaggerating a little for effect, but probably not much)
He's employed as head coach. He has the preceding coaching structure under him as did Shota. Walker has taken McCann's Cliff role, but at first team level, the coaching staff haven't been brought in by the head coach since the Silva experiment.
I know - I don't think we've got defensively ****e all of a sudden, just they've been asked to take more risks to create more chances. Generally speaking. As can be seen by the advanced position of at least 1, if not both fullbacks this season as opposed to last in a lot of games. Against So'ton we just ran out of steam after staying with them so long and the subs couldn't get in the game. But we're not particularly leaky even with a bit less solidity. We just need to capitalise more on good situations in their 3rd. It'll come..
